Fruity Pebble Krispie Treats

mini marshmallows (426 grams)

unsalted butter

vanilla extract (15 milliliters)

Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Melt the butter in a large pot over medium low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Add cereal and stir to coat with the marshmallow mixture. Pour into pan. Press firmly to compact. Tip: spray wax paper with nonstick cooking spray so you can press without it sticking to your hands.

Let set until firm then slice into bars. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Rice Krispies cereal

Line a 9&#215;9 pan with parchment paper and coat lightly with nonstick spray. Set aside.

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add in 6 cups of the marshmallows, salt, and vanilla and stir constantly until melted. Remove the pan from the heat.

Stir in the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Rice Krispies, and remaining marshmallows until coated in the marshmallow mixture.

Press evenly into the pan and allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Melt the butter and the marshmallows in a medium sized saucepan over medium-low heat. Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Quickly stir in the cereal. Stir in the candy and sprinkles.

Pour the marshmallow-cereal mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press to flatten. (I like to spray my hands with cooking spray and use them to press the treats into the pan – just be careful not to burn yourself.) Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Little late to this recipe. But after reading this comment. I froze all my candies and sprinkles a few hours before making. I had no issues with melting.

I made these for administrators meeting and they are still raving! Easy and delicious. 5 stars without a doubt.

I was worried about that so I let it cool for a few minutes and then I used jimmies sprinkles which worked well. After a little more cooling I mixed in the chocolate m&amp;ms.

I love your beautiful pictures.  I made two batches, following the recipe exactly and one batch was hard, one was gooey like it should be.  I think my main complaint is that I cannot find 'halloween' M&amp;Ms and my sprinkles just are awful.  They melted into the first batch so fast that the treats are black-ish.  Not an appetizing color.  Oh well.  I will be making a 3rd batch this afternoon and, fingers crossed, I can get them to work!  I did use all fresh ingredients, too.

I wanted to add another reason for hard Rice Krispie treats... cooking your marshmallows too long. I learned this the hard way. As soon as the marshmallows are melted remove them from the heat and add the cereal. Some years ago I let the marshmallows bubble on the stove top while I was making dinner. Everything seemed fine until I tried to cut into them and they were as hard as a rock.
