Turkey Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Cranberry Mustard - a delicious way to use leftover Thanksgiving Turkey and Cranberry Sauce!

Turkey Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Cranberry Mustard

bread

turkey breast

cheese

cranberry mustard

butter

cranberry sauce

whole grain mustard, more to taste.

Stir the cranberry sauce and mustard  together.

Spread some cranberry mustard generously on all 4 slices of bread. Layer 2 slices of bread with turkey and brie, then top with the other slice.

Heat butter on medium low heat and pan-sear the sandwiches,  until crispy and golden on both sides. Place on a sheet pan and finish in the oven until the cheese is melty.

Do you preserve this just like you do jam?

Made this tonight for dinner with our leftovers. We LOVED it. Another excellent recipe.

Very good result! Only change I would make is to grill the sandwich until the cheese melts in a covered pan on the range. Works for me because I make only one or two sandwiches at a time.

This sandwich is a winner, and I certainly won't wait for Thanksgiving leftovers to make it again. Teen son loved it to. We both agreed I could have upped the mustard a little (did not follow proportions of recipe, just winged it). thanks

I tried this yesterday and was astounded at how good it was.  My cranberry sauce was the kind with oranges in it, so I tasted the cranberry mustard before committing it to the sandwiches. I loved it. My husband loved it. I keep cranberries on hand all year round, so we won't have to wait till next Thanksgiving to have this again!

In this Turkey Cranberry Sandwich recipe turkey and cranberry sauce are nestled between two slices of buttery bread that have been grilled to perfection, all held together by melted cheddar cheese. This Thanksgiving sandwich is the perfect way to use up leftover turkey!

Turkey Cranberry Sandwich Recipe

cheddar cheese

TBS salted butter (softened)

Place 1 slice of cheese on one slice of bread.

Spread 2 TBS cranberry sauce on top of the slice of cheese, then arrange ¼ lb. of turkey on top of the cranberry sauce.

Put another slice of cheese on top of the turkey, followed by a second slice of bread.

Use ½ TBS butter to butter the outside of the top piece of bread. Place the sandwich onto a large non-stick skillet, buttered side down – leaving room for the second sandwich as well.

Spread ½ TBS butter on the outside of the other slice of bread.

Repeat with remaining ingredients to make a second sandwich.

Turn the heat on to medium-low and cover the skillet with a lid. This is important to heat the ingredients and melt the cheese. Cook on medium-low for 4-5 minutes, or until the bottom slice of bread is golden-brown.

Flip sandwich over, turn heat to low and continue cooking an additional 4-5 minutes until the second side is golden-brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove from pan and serve immediately.
