Add the sparkling wine to the glass.

Place the gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc into a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Shake until cold.

Use a knife to remove a 1″ wide strip of the lemon peel. Squeeze the lemon peel into the drink to release the oils. Gently run the peel around the edge of the glass, then place it in the glass and serve.

The drink was invented and named by fictional secret agent James Bond in the 1953 novel Casino Royale. 'A dry martini,' [Bond] said. 'One. In a deep champagne goblet.''Oui, monsieur.''Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?'

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice.

Shake

Shake well for 10-15 seconds or until the outside of the shaker becomes frosted.

Strain

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, garnish with a lemon peel and serve.
