Caramel Macchiato Biscotti

Tbsp unsalted butter, softened

sugar

eggs

espresso powder

Tbsp vanilla extract

all purpose flour

tsp baking powder

Kraft caramel bits

heavy cream

In a mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar...

In a mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar until creamy. Bean in eggs, espresso powder and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder. Fold in caramel bits. Batter will be sticky.

Divide dough in half and form two 10x3 inch logs on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove and cool about 10 minutes. Cut into 1 inch slices and arrange slices upright in pan. Bake an additional 20 minutes. Remove and cool completely before glazing.

For the glaze, whisk all the ingredients together until smooth. Spread onto cooled biscotti. Allow to set, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container up to two weeks.

Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato Recipe

Vanilla Syrup

Cup Ice Cubes (approximately), divided

Cup Cold Milk

Shots Espresso (or about 1/4 cup coffee)

Tablespoon Caramel Sauce

Add vanilla syrup to the bottom of a 16 oz cup.

Add ice cubes until the glass is about half-full. Slowly pour the milk over the ice cubes.

Add more ice until it almost reaches the top of the cup (if using a lid I would leave at least 1&#8243; of space so it doesn&#8217;t overflow). Slowly pour espresso over the top. Drizzle the caramel evenly over the top layer.

Swirl drink to combine ingredients before drinking. Enjoy!

I was craving a caramel macchiato right now. I didn’t have vanilla syrup but I did have maple syrup. Let me tell you just as good. I’m saving this recipe for my morning coffee. Absolute lifesaver. Taste amazing

Steamed milk with espresso, vanilla syrup and caramel drizzle!

Caramel Macchiato

vanilla syrup

shots hot espresso ((or ½ cup strong coffee))

milk, (warmed until steaming)

caramel sauce, (for the top)

In a mug, stir together the vanilla syrup and espresso. Pour in the milk and stir. 

Top with the whipped cream. Drizzle the caramel sauce on top. Serve immediately. 

This creamy salted caramel macchiato is just the right amount sweet and salty and tastes better than any drink you can buy in a coffee shop!

Salted Caramel Macchiato

tbsp butter

sea salt

Salted Caramel Macchiato:1 cup milk

½ tbsp salted caramel sauce

shots espresso

First make the salted caramel sauce. Heat the sugar on a saucepan over medium to high heat. Continue to heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar melts into a brown liquid (about 5 minutes).

Once the sugar has melted, reduce the heat to low. Wait a couple minutes for the pan to cool down. Stir in the butter and whisk until it is evenly mixed into the melted sugar. It may look like the butter won’t blend in, but continue to whisk the mixture and it will.

With the pan still on low heat, mix in the cream, one tablespoon at a time. If the cream sizzles, the pan is too hot. If you find the brown sugar mixture is starting to form a clump, increase the heat slightly and it will melt again.

Remove the pan from the stove and pass the sauce through a fine mesh sieve. Mix in the sea salt. Let the syrup cool for 5 to 10 minutes before using it. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Next make the salted caramel macchiato. Heat the milk on a saucepan over medium heat, bringing it almost to a boil. Don’t let the milk boil or scald. When there is a lot of steam coming off of it (about 3 minutes), remove the milk from the stove and pour it into a tall glass, on top of the salted caramel sauce.

With a handheld frother, froth the milk with the salted caramel sauce until the milk doubles in volume and the sauce is fully dissolved.

Pour the frothed milk over the hot espresso. Optionally, top with extra salted caramel sauce. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Prepare in advance: Bring water and sugar to a boil in a large pot on the stove. Divide into 3 heat-safe bowls or measuring cups, then add flavourings according to above. Chill for 30 minutes to an hour in the fridge (or freezer if you're in a rush!) Syrups can be kept in the fridge up to 4 weeks.

For the Iced Drinks: Brew espresso shots using a coffee machine. Add ice to a large glass, then pour espresso shots and milk over top. Add in 1-2 tbsp syrup of your choice. Serve and enjoy!
