Delicious Marinated Mozzarella Balls are the heart of this delicious recipe, which makes a terrific salad or appetizer. It’s quick, easy, fresh, and beautiful!

Marinated Mozzarella Balls with Tomato and Avocado

olive oil

garlic (minced)

herbs

red pepper flakes

salt

mozzarella balls (such as ciliegine, drained)

cherry or grape tomatoes (halved)

avocado

balsamic glaze

extra fresh herbs (optional garnish)

First, marinate the mozzarella. Stir together the olive oil, garlic, herbs, red pepper, and salt. Add mozzarella and stir well.

Allow to marinate for one hour or more, stirring occasionally. If marinating for longer than 2-3 hours, transfer to the refrigerator, but still stir from time to time.

To serve, place tomatoes in a large bowl. Spoon mozzarella on top along with as much of the olive oil mixture as you desire, and stir gently to combine.

Top with avocado and additional herbs, if using, and drizzle with balsamic glaze. (I like to reserve a little bit of the olive oil to spoon over everything immediately before serving.) Enjoy!

These marinated mozzarella balls are an easy, make-ahead appetizer for parties and gatherings. Olive oil, lemon, garlic, and herbs fill them with rich flavor.

Marinated Mozzarella Balls

parsley

lemon juice

lemon zest

garlic (grated)

sea salt

olive oil (or enough to cover the mozzarella balls)

mozzarella cheese balls (drained and patted dry)

In a medium jar, stir together the herbs, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and ⅓ cup of the olive oil.

Add the mozzarella and top with the remaining ⅓ cup olive oil, adding more as needed to cover the mozzarella.

Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

These Marinated Mozzarella Balls take cheese to the next level of flavor!  You can have these made and ready in as little as 5 minutes, for a quick and easy appetizer, or addition to a charcuterie or cheese board.

Marinated Mozzarella

oz mozzarella balls

olive oil (extra virgin)

tsp kosher salt (coarse)

tsp black pepper (freshly ground)

tsp red pepper flakes ((or more if you prefer spicier))

basil leaves (julienned)

garlic

Combine all ingredients together. Mix to coat the cheese in all of the toppings.

Let marinate in the refrigerator for 15 min - 24 hours.
