Mexican Pinwheels are a super simple and super tasty appetizer for any occasion. These Southwest Sausage Pinwheels are easy to make and require hardly any work at all. These sausage cream cheese pinwheels have all my favorite Mexican inspired flavor in one bite. Just as easy as any tortilla roll ups appetizer!

Mexican Pinwheels (Southwest Sausage Pinwheels)

chorizo or bulk sausage (cooked & crumbled)

package cream cheese, softened

sour cream

picante sauce

lime

taco seasoning (click

cheddar cheese

green onions

flour tortillas

Salsa

In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, sour cream, picante sauce, juice of 1 lime and taco seasoning until smooth.

Add in olives, green chilies, cheese, green onions and cooked sausage. Mix well.

With an offset spatula, spread about ½ cup of filling to within ½-inch of each edge. Tightly roll up each tortilla, wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

Cut into 1-inch slices and serve with sides of red and green salsa.

Mexican Pinwheels

Mexican pinwheels are bite-size tortilla rolls filled with a spiced cream cheese mixture. They are a party in your mouth!

Mexican Pinwheels Recipe

(8 ounces) package cream cheese (softened)

salsa

taco seasoning

garlic powder

(4 ounces) can chopped green chilies

Mexican cheese (finely shredded)

flour tortillas ((10 inch))

salsa (on the side)

Add cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, taco seasoning, and garlic powder to a small bowl. Mix together until smooth. Add the chilies and cheese and stir.

Scoop 1/2-3/4 cup of the mixture onto each 10-inch tortilla. Spread the mixture to cover the tortilla.

Roll each tortilla like you would a jelly roll.  Line them up, seam side down, in a baking dish. Cover the dish and place it in the fridge to chill for 2 hours overnight.

After they have chilled slice each tortilla roll into 1-inch pieces. Place them side by side on a serving tray so that you can see the rolled layers. Serve with salsa.
