Easy Monkey Bread (with Bread Dough)

loaf frozen bread dough, (thawed in the refrigerator overnight)

(1 stick) salted butter, (melted)

brown sugar

cinnamon

Tablespoons chopped pecans, (optional topping)

Thaw a loaf of frozen bread dough (just follow the back of the package for instructions on how best to do it). Once thawed, turn out bread onto a lightly greased cutting board and pat gently into an 8 inch square. 

Using a large knife, cut it into 64 pieces. Roll them into balls, but don’t worry if they aren’t perfect or exactly the same size.

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

Pour the melted butter into a dish with a low rim (like a pie pan.) Dip the dough balls into the butter, coating well, and then roll into the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Place evenly in rows in a greased bundt pan. I like to spray the bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray with flour in it.

Cover the pan with a towel and place in a warm place to rise for 1-2 hours. It should rise to almost the rim of the pan.

Bake at 350F degrees for 20-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown. (Note that dark coated baking pans will cook faster.)

Cool in the pan on a cooling rack for 5 minutes (only) and then turn onto a serving platter. Serve warm with a sprinkle of chopped pecans (optional).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.

 In a large bowl, add the granulated sugar and cinnamon.  Stir to combine.

 Separate the biscuits.  Cut each biscuit into 4 equal pieces.

 Add the biscuit pieces to the bowl with the cinnamon sugar mixture.  Stir well to make sure each piece of biscuit is well coated.

In a medium bowl, add the melted butter, brown sugar, and chopped pecans.  Whisk until well combined.

Spoon half of the cinnamon sugar biscuit mixture into the bundt pan.

Pour half of the butter mixture evenly over the biscuits. Repeat with the remaining biscuits and butter mixture.

Bake for 35 minutes, until golden brown.

Cool in the bundt pan for 8-10 minutes*.

Invert the bundt pan onto a large serving plate.  Carefully remove the bundt pan.

Monkey Bread

(16.3-ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough

sugar ((200 grams))

unsalted butter ((226 grams))

light brown sugar ((165 grams))

Preheat oven to 350F.

Separate the biscuit dough rounds, cut each biscuit into quarters, and place the pieces in a large zip-top bag. Add the sugar and cinnamon, seal, and shake until the biscuit pieces are evenly coated (you can do this in batches if needed).

Lightly grease a 10-inch bundt pan and place the coated biscuit pieces in the pan.

In a small saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture starts to boil and the butter is completely melted. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the biscuit pieces in the pan.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is deep golden brown. Place the pan on a wire rack and let cool for 10 minutes. After cooling, place a large serving plate on top of the pan and carefully flip the pan over to invert the bread onto the plate. Remove the pan and let the bread cool for a few more minutes before serving warm.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease a 9- to 10-inch Bundt pan with butter, or spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Stir garlic salt into melted butter. Cut each biscuit in half and roll into a ball. Dip each biscuit ball in butter, then roll in desired coating. Arrange biscuits in the pan so that the various coatings are alternated, making sure that cheese accounts for the coating on at least half of the biscuits so that the monkey bread holds together once it&#39;s baked.

Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until biscuits are done and surface is golden. Start checking monkey bread at about 20 minutes, and if it&#39;s browning too quickly, lay a sheet of aluminum foil on top for the remainder of the baking time.

Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Run a thin, soft rubber spatula around the edge and down the sides of the pan to loosen any stuck cheese. Invert onto a plate, then lay serving platter on top and flip bread over onto serving platter so that the attractive side is on top.

After a tough week, I decided to make this savory monkey bread as a special treat with dinner last night. My family couldn't get enough!

This was literally one of the easiest things I made for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit!

I usually don't comment on recipes, because I don't follow them very well and I don't feel that it's my place to talk about changes that I made to someone's recipe.  I'm going to today though because I really liked your recipe and think somebody else might benefit from my tweaks.  After cutting the biscuits, I flattened them and added some Boursin cheese to the middle (but cream cheese would work too) before making them into balls.  I mixed my medium grated Parmesan with dried dill and dried chives to coat the balls and it worked really well.  I was in a hurry and couldn't find my bundt pans, so I did it in a 9 x 13 glass pan.  They covered the bottom and it was easy to take to a pot luck.  Thank you very much for the recipe!  I definitely be making these again and sharing it with others!  😊
