Kids love the classics and these Mummy dogs are a classic Halloween recipe! The recipe is simple, hotdogs wrapped in strips of crescent rolls and baked.

Crescent Roll Dough

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Open your crescent roll package and unroll the dough. Press on the perforations to seal them together.

Cut the dough into 1/4 inch strips.

Wrap the pieces of dough around each hot dog creating bandages by stretching the dough slightly and letting it overlap and criss-cross. You don&#x27;t completely cover the hot dog, leave gaps so it looks like a mummy peeking out from its bandages.

Place each wrapped hot dog on a baking sheet and then bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and hot dogs are warmed through.

Remove from the oven and place a small dot of ketchup or mustard on the back of your candy eyes and add 2 to each mummy dog.

These spooky Mummy Hot Dogs are such an easy Halloween appetizer! Flaky crescent roll dough is wrapped around smoky hot dogs decorated with edible googly eyes, and it's all served with your choice of 4 festive dips!

(8 count) of hotdogs (use your favorite brand)

(8ounces) refrigerated crescent roll sheets (or 1 can 8-count crescent rolls)

Candy eyes

Dips (optional)Mustard

Ketchup

Mayonnaise

Pickle relish

Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray or a line with a piece of parchment paper.

Unroll the crescent dough on a large cutting mat. Cut the dough into ¼-inch stripes on the long side of the dough.

To wrap the hot dogs, start at one end, wrap a strip of dough randomly around the hot dog. Leave a gap near the top for the eyes.

Place the crescent wrapped hot dogs on the pan. Bake for 10 minutes and check if the dough has cooked. Add an additional minute or two as needed until the dough is baked through.

Remove the mummies from the cookie sheet and place on a serving plate.

Put a dot of mustard for each eye, then place a candy eye on the mustard. This will help “glue” the eyes on. Serve warm with your choice of dips.

For the Mummy Hot Dogs

Make three mustard circles around the bowl, each one smaller than the last, spacing evenly. Add a large dot of mustard in the middle.

Using a toothpick, start from the middle and pull straight out past the last circle. Repeat 5-7 times around the circle

For the Spiderweb Dip

Drip ketchup around the outer edge of a small bowl in a circular manner.

Fill the inside of the bowl with green relish.

For the Monster Puddle Dip

Spoon mayonnaise into a bowl and use a spoon to create a hole in the middle.

Using a toothpick, starting in the ketchup pull outwards in a squiggle line, dragging some ketchup out to create a bloodshot effect.

Add a little circle of mustard to finish the eye.

For the Bloodshot Eye Dip

Use a mini ghost cookie cutter or a sharp knife to cut out a ghost shape from the cheese.

Mummy Hot Dog Recipe

unbleached all-purpose flour

baking powder

salt

egg white (beaten (whole egg works fine too))

turkey hot dogs (such as Applegate Naturals, halved crosswise)

candy eyes

mustard (optional

Egg white

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Line a baking sheet with a silicon baking mat or parchment paper. If using parchment paper, spray with oil to avoid sticking.

In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt and whisk well. Add the yogurt and mix with a fork or spatula until well combined, it will look like small crumbles.

Lightly dust flour on a work surface and remove dough from the bowl, knead the dough a few times until dough is smooth and tacky, but not sticky, about 15 turns (it should not leave dough on your hand when you pull away).

Dust your work surface and a rolling pin with more flour.

Roll the dough out thin into a rectangle. Slice the dough into 1/4 inch thick slices.

Wrap the dough around each hot dog half leaving room for the eyes and place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough.

Brush each with the egg wash and bake in oven for 12 minutes.

Using mustard or ketchup, “glue” the eyes on.  Allow to cool for 10 minutes and serve.

Kid approved! Made these tonight for the kids and they loved them. I will say the dough was hard to wrap around the hot dog as it was still sticky. I did knead per directions. Kids didn’t mind they didn’t look perfect.
