Creamy Mustard Chicken

Tbsp (28 grams) - Clarified Unsalted Butter

Brown (Yellow Onion), Diced

(5 Sprigs)

Garlic Cloves, Minced

(7 ounces) - Streaky Bacon, Diced

Chicken Thigh, Bone Out

(2.7floz)

(16.9floz) - Thickened Cream (Pouring Cream/Whipping Cream)

Dijon Mustard

Cup (50 grams) - Parmesan Cheese, Grated

Place a large heavy-based pot or skillet onto your stovetop over medium-high heat. Once hot pour in 1 Tbsp of olive oil and add in the chicken thighs (in batches depending on your pot size). Sear the chicken for 7 minutes on either side and season with salt and pepper. Remove from the pan, placing them into a bowl to rest.

In the same pot, add in the remaining oil and bacon. Fry the bacon for 3 minutes, stirring frequently or until golden brown. Remove the bacon from the pot with a slotted spoon, placing it into a separate bowl, and leaving the bacon fat in the pot for added flavour.

Add in the clarified butter and allow it to melt. Add in the diced onion and saute for 3-4 minutes or until golden and translucent. Once golden, add in the chopped parsley, roughly chopped thyme, and minced garlic. Saute for 15 seconds. Pour in the wine (or vegetable or chicken stock) to deglaze and allow to reduce for 1 minute, stirring the whole time. Add in the cream and dijon mustard, mixing it well, and bring the sauce to a simmer. Once simmering, add in the grated parmesan cheese, sea salt flakes, and cracked black pepper, mixing it thoroughly. Turn heat to low and simmer for 7 minutes, stirring frequently.

7 minutes later, add in the chicken thighs and bacon, along with the resting juices in the bowl. Mix through well to evenly distribute the bacon and to cover the chicken in the sauce.  Continue simmering for 7 minutes. Add in the baby spinach and mix through for 1 minute or until wilted. Turn off the heat and serve.

Garnish with grated parmesan cheese, cracked black pepper, and parsley. Enjoy.

Baked Dijon Chicken Thighs with Shallots

½ - ¾ pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (6-8 pieces)

shallots (about 2 large)

Dijon mustard

tomato paste

lemon (approximately ¼ cup)

extra virgin olive oil

thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

garlic

salt

black pepper (or to taste)

½ teaspoon crushed red chili pepper

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Put the chicken in a medium (about 3-quart capacity) baking dish. If your pan/dish is not nonstick, spray it with cooking spray or line with a sheet of aluminum foil for easier clean-up.

Whisk together the mustard, tomato paste, lemon juice, olive oil, thyme, garlic, salt, pepper, and chili in a medium bowl.

Mix the marinade

Pour the marinade over the chicken and turn the pieces over to coat. Scatter the shallots over the chicken, poking them in between the thighs here and there. Some of the unexposed shallots will crisp and brown, while the covered pieces will bake and soften.

You can bake the chicken immediately or cover and refrigerate the chicken and marinade up to 24 hours ahead.

Bake the chicken 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is opaque and the juices are bubbling. Serve warm.

Baked Dijon Chicken Thighs

Tender and succulent chicken in wine and mustard sauce with thyme and shallots, an easy version of a sophisticated French dish.

Chicken in Wine and Mustard Sauce

olive oil

lbs chicken legs and thighs

salt and pepper

shallots (diced)

thyme

tbsp dijon mustard

125 milliliters white wine

chicken stock

125 milliliters light cream/single cream (18% fat content)

Preheat the oven to 350F/180C

In a large frying pan heat one tablespoon of olive oil and brown chicken parts seasoned with salt and pepper on each side until golden but not cooked all the way through. Remove to a plate.

To the same pan add shallots, garlic and thyme leaves and cook over low heat for 5 minutes without getting any colour on them.

Add wine, dijon mustard and chicken stock, stir to combine and bring to a boil, then return chicken to the pan, spoon the sauce all over chicken pieces.

Put in the oven uncovered and cook for 45 minutes.

Take out of the oven add light/single cream to the sauce, once again baste the chicken in the sauce, put back in the oven and cook for 10 minutes longer.

Serve with rice, potatoes or roasted vegetables.

Dijon chicken is an easy, elegant chicken recipe that&#39;s so delicious on a weeknight or date night at home! Tender, juicy chicken thighs are cooked until golden brown, then simmered in a creamy Dijon mustard sauce with handfuls of chopped spinach or kale. (Low-carb, paleo and Atkins friendly).

Creamy One-Pan Dijon Chicken

garlic (grated

lemon juice (about ½ lemon)

red pepper

herbs

chicken broth

heavy cream

bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (2½-3 pounds)

Kosher salt

black pepper

onion (about ½ medium onion)

all-purpose flour (or brown rice flour/gluten-free all purpose flour)

kale or spinach (chopped)

In a small bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic, herbs and red pepper. Reserve the heavy cream and chicken broth.

Pat the chicken thighs as dry as possible with paper towels (this will help crisp up the skin). Season the chicken generously on both sides with salt and pepper.

Place a large (12-inch) non-stick saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the oil and heat until the surface is shimmering. Arrange the chicken pieces skin-side down in the pan and cook without moving them, until the skin turns golden brown, 5-7 minutes. Turn the chicken over and cook 2 minutes on the other side. Remove the chicken from the pan to a large plate. Note: Brown the chicken in two batches if the chicken seems crowded in the pan.

Add the onion to the fat in the pan, and cook about 2 minutes, stirring, until softened. Pour in ¼ cup of chicken broth, scraping up the browned bits from the pan with a wooden spoon or spatula. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir it in, just until it starts to thicken.

Stir in the Dijon mixture and remaining ½ cup broth. Add the chicken back to the pan, skin-side up. Cover the pan, lower the heat and cook 15 minutes, adjusting the heat as necessary to maintain a gentle simmer (not boiling).

Uncover the pan. Pour the cream around the chicken pieces, and scatter the kale or spinach leaves over the top. Bring back to a simmer, then cover the pan and cook about 5 more minutes, until the kale is wilted and the chicken is cooked through (no longer pink at the bone).

Serve the chicken with the pan juices spooned over. Enjoy!

A 30-minute, one-dish dinner with Dijon chicken in a creamy sauce with herbs and leafy greens.

This skillet mustard chicken recipe is coated in a creamy, comforting, dairy-free mustard sauce. Made with chicken thighs and savory bacon bits.

Skillet Chicken Thighs with Mustard Cream Sauce (No Dairy)

yellow mustard ((or mustard of choice))

coconut milk

tbsp coconut aminos

thyme,

Italian seasoning

tsp smoked paprika

bacon,

lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs

onion, diced

mushrooms, sliced

kale, roughly chopped ((optional, can omit or sub other greens))

parsley ((optional garnish))

Dice bacon and heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place bacon in the skillet to cook, stirring occasionally, until it is just browned. Remove and place on a paper towel lined plate.

While the bacon is cooking, make the mustard sauce by combining all of the mustard sauce ingredients in a bowl or large measuring cup. Whisk to mix.

Chop, onion, mushrooms and kale. Measure out remaining ingredients.

When the bacon is finished, reserve bacon fat in the pan and keep the skillet on medium heat. Place the chicken in the skillet to cook. Cook for 4-5 minutes, without disturbing.  Flip it and cook for another 4-5 minutes. If the chicken is just slightly undercooked, that&#x27;s ok. It will finish cooking with the sauce. Remove and place on a plate.

Place onion in the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes, until the onion starts to soften.

Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for another 2-3 minutes.

Give the mustard sauce a quick whisk to mix and pour it into the skillet. Scrape to deglaze with a wooden spoon. Bring the sauce to a quick simmer.

Add the chicken and bacon back into the skillet. Cover, turn down heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes. The sauce should thicken a little. Ensure that the chicken is cooked through.

Remove cover and add in the kale. Stir to mix for 2-3 minutes, until the kale is wilted.

Serve chicken topped with chopped parsley if desired. Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken for serving.

Easy mustard sheet pan chicken

chicken thighs

potatoes

250 g (9 ounces) broccolini

salt and pepper (to taste)

tbsp wholegrain mustard

lemon juice

tsp honey

chilli flakes

½ tsp pepper

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the mustard, olive oil, honey, lemon, thyme, chilli flakes, salt and pepper.

Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels then season on both sides with salt and pepper. 

Place the chicken, skin-side up, into a sheet pan or baking sheet.

Peel the potatoes and cube. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place the potatoes in between the chicken.

Brush the honey mustard sauce over the chicken. Place the sheet pan in the oven and allow to roast for 30 minutes.

While the chicken is baking, toss the broccoli with a tablespoon of oil and season with salt and pepper.

Remove the pan from the oven, flip the potatoes then add the broccolini.

Place back in the oven and allow to bake for another 15-20 minutes until the chicken and potatoes are golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and serve. 

This honey mustard chicken skillet is packed with flavor, made in one pan, and ready in under an hour. It&#39;s a perfect weeknight meal!

Honey Mustard Chicken Skillet Recipe

extra virgin olive oil (divided)

garlic (sliced)

onion (sliced)

rosemary

honey (divided)

Heat

In a cast iron skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil over medium heat.

Add the garlic, onions, and rosemary sprigs.

Sauté

Sauté for 7 minutes on medium heat, until golden brown.

Add 2 tablespoons of honey, and sauté for another 2 minutes.

Remove

Remove the onions, garlic, and rosemary from pan and set aside.

Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in the same pan.

Cook

Add chicken thighs and cook for 8 minutes on each side, on medium heat.

Add the onions, garlic, and rosemary back to the pan.

Combine

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey, plus the Dijon mustard.

Add the chicken stock and mix with a wooden spoon so that all ingredients are well combined.

Simmer

Let everything simmer on medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Great recipe but a little too sweet for me. Next time I make this, I will probably cut 1tbs of honey.
