one pot lasagna

This one pan Skillet Lasagna has all the same ingredients and flavors as a traditional meat lasagna but with minimal prep and is ready in just 40 minutes.

Skillet Lasagna

pound ground beef

onion,

3 cloves garlic, minced

Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

lasagna noodles, broken

ounces marinara sauce

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

Parmesan cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat add ground beef. Stir well and break up the beef into small pieces and cook until evenly browned but not fully browned yet, about 5 minutes. 

Add in onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook until the meat is evenly browned and is no longer pink. The onion should also start to soften.

Add half of the marinara sauce, a layer of broken uncooked lasagna noodles.

Bring to a boil and then cover and turn the heat down to medium. Allow it to simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the noodles are tender. You may need to occasionally add in some water if you find the sauce is getting dry. You may also want to occasionally stir the noodles into the meat sauce.

Add a few dollops of ricotta cheese on top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Turn the broiler on high and broil for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden. Serve with fresh chopped parsley on top.

Easiest One Pot Lasagna

lasagna noodles

Italian sausage

In a large, 2-inch deep skillet over medium high heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked. Stir in garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add marinara sauce, water, and Italian seasoning to the pan and stir to combine. Stir lasagna noodles into the sauce.

Reduce heat to medium low heat (a high simmer). Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring every few minutes, or until lasagna noodles are tender.

Drop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the noodles. Top with the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Cook 3-4 minutes longer until cheese is completely melted. Top with fresh basil if desired and serve.

Super Easy One Pot Lasagna

bacon,

shallots, minced

carrots, minced

beef

a good sprinkling of salt and pepper

jar DeLallo Pomodoro Fresco Tomato Basil sauce

dry red wine (optional – can replace with broth or water)

cream cheese

DeLallo whole wheat no-boil lasagna noodles

mozzarella

basil and Parmesan cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large ovenproof skillet, brown the bacon until crispy. Add the shallots and carrot; saute for 5 minutes or until soft and fragrant. Add the ground beef with salt and pepper and brown until no longer pink. Drain off all the excess grease.

Add the tomato sauce and wine to the meat in the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes over medium low heat. Stir in the cream cheese until melted.

Break each of the lasagna noodles into 3 or 4 pieces. Stir them into the meat mixture so they are completely covered in sauce, and arrange them so that they are all laying flat in the pan.

Tuck a few slices of fresh mozzarella underneath and between the noodles, and place the remaining slices of fresh mozzarella on top. Bake for 25 minutes. If you want to brown the cheese, turn the heat up to 425 for an additional 10 minutes.

Let stand for 5-10 minutes and top with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.

This was amazing! I made it for my family and friends and everyone raved and raved. Truly, they were sold at the inclusion of bacon, but the finished dish was so delicious.
I could not find DeLallo in Chicago anywhere so I used Rao sauce and Barilla noodles. Thanks for a great recipe!

After a few years of this being in my weekly dinner routine, I figured it was time for me to comment. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've shared this recipe... Let alone cooked it!! We have a family of 4 kids, 3 middle school/high school boys... So I double this EVERY TIME and we hardly have any left. It tends to be the meal they ask for on birthdays. I love this so much. I never ever make lasagna because, frankly, I don't want to do the work. I made it once way back with my mom and it took us all day and ended up being just okay.
