Mixing together orange jello, vanilla pudding, mandarin oranges, and marshmallows makes a sweet dreamsicle inspired treat that everyone loves. It’s a simple summer dessert salad that’s the perfect dish to share.

Orange Fluff

orange jello mix

vanilla pudding

water (boiling)

water (cold)

tub cool whip (thawed)

mandarin oranges (drained)

mini marshmallows

In a large bowl combine orange jello mix and boiling hot water. Use a whisk to stir until all jello is dissolved and then add in the cold water. Use a rubber spatula to scrape around the sides of the bowl. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

Remove from the refrigerator and whisk in dry instant vanilla pudding mix. Use the rubber spatula to scrape sides of the bowl again to ensure all jello and pudding are dissolved. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place back in the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes.

Remove bowl from the refrigerator and gently fold in mandarin oranges, cool whip, and marshmallows. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and place back in the refrigerator for at least 1hour, or until ready to serve.

After spending 2 weeks perfecting 5 different fluff salad recipes, I consider myself a fluff salad expert! Orange fluff salad has been in my family for generations, but my version is now upgraded with the perfect ingredient ratios and process.

Mandarin Orange Fluff Recipe

oz box orange jello mix

water

3.4 oz box instant vanilla pudding

oz cool whip

15 oz cans mandarin oranges (drained very well)

pineapple

In a large mixing bowl combine the orange jello mix and boiling water, whisk until dissolved. Pour in the cold water, whisk to combine. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Remove the bowl from the fridge and whisk in the instant vanilla pudding mix, scraping down the sides to incorporate everything. Return the bowl to the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Remove the bowl from the fridge and fold in the cool whip.

Add in the mini marshmallows, well drained mandarin oranges, and well drained crushed pineapple. Fold gently to combine.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving. This allows the mixture to thicken and for the marshmallows to soften.

Made this for a Clemson game day dessert. It is delicious!!! I followed the directions to a T but did add pecans per my grandson’s request. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks for sharing! 🍊 🐯

Definitely a 10!  This is the best orange fluff according to my family and I get requests for it every reunion, picnic, get-together etc.

Kinda hard to understand, says to make jello but then to add pudding, doesn’t say dry mix or pudding that’s made? And video doesn’t show either so kinda confused. It would make sense for already made pudding into the jello but it tells you how to make jello and not the pudding? Just would like to know for sure!

This orange fluff was very good, although I used sugar free in the pudding, jello &amp; cool whip. I ate every day.

I especially love this version of orange fluff with the vanilla instant pudding in it.  A change from the cottage cheese texture in other similar recipes. Thank you for sharing.
