In a medium saucepan add orange juice, white and brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red chili flakes. Heat for 3 minutes over medium heat.

In a small bowl, whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to form a paste.

Add the paste to orange sauce and whisk together. Continue to cook for 5 minutes, until the mixture begins to thicken.

Once the sauce is thickened, remove from heat and stir in orange zest.

Chinese takeout inspired orange sauce recipe. This easy orange sauce is perfect for making orange chicken, orange tofu, orange cauliflower, or using as a sauce for stir fry!

Baked cauliflower glazed with a sweet and spicy orange sauce that tastes just like your orange chicken takeout, but cauliflower instead.

Baked Orange Cauliflower "Chicken"

cauliflower,

all-purpose flour ((or as needed))

garlic powder

salt

all-purpose flour

Vegetable oil

1½ Tablespoon white vinegar

garlic, minced ((about 1 tsp.))

red pepper flakes ((or

cornstarch ((mixed with 1 TBPS cold water))

Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare parchment lined sheet pan.

If your making the seasoned flour, mix together flour, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, water, oil salt, garlic powder, and cornstarch until completely smooth.

In small portions, dredge the cauliflower florets in the wet batter. Make sure to shake off excess batter.Place the cauliflowers into the seasoned flour and lightly coat the florets. Shake off excess flour. Place the battered florets onto the lined sheet pan. Repeat with remaining florets.

Bake for 10 minutes. Flip each floret and bake for another 10 minutes or until cauliflower is lightly brown and tender. (The time may vary depending on your cauliflower floret size and oven).Once baked, you can shake off any excess dry flour from your cauliflower.

While the cauliflower is baking, start on the orange sauce.In a bowl, mix together orange juice and zest, ketchup, sugar, and vinegar until combined. Set aside.

In a sauce pan over medium high heat, add a small amount of oil and sauté garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant, about 30 seconds.Add the orange juice mixture to the pan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling turn it down to a simmer and stir in the cornstarch slurry*. The sauce should thicken once the sauce starts bubbling again. *Make sure to stir the cornstarch with water prior to adding into the sauce.*

Toss the baked cauliflower florets with the orange sauce in a heat proof bowl. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Pork Tenderloin with Orange Sauce - The pork marinade starts with fresh chopped garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lemon juice and marsala wine. The pork tenderloin gets grilled to perfection and is served with an aromatic orange sauce made with orange juice, zest, cinnamon and cloves. Adapted from The Plantation Cookbook from the Junior League of New Orleans.

Pork Tenderloin with Orange Sauce

Marinade:

pork

Marsala wine

Orange Sauce:

tbsp orange zest

cinnamon

tsp salt

cloves

In a bowl combine the marinade ingredients and mix with a whisk. Pour over pork, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Start your grill. Remove pork and reserve the marinade for basting. Grill for 15 minutes in a 350°F- 400°F. Meat should be browned with internal temperature at 145°-165°F, depending on how you prefer (pink to white).&nbsp;

In a saucepan place sugar, orange juice, zest, cornstarch cinnamon and salt. Turn heat to medium and place cloves in a cheesecloth and tie. Drop in the orange sauce and continue cooking on low until thickened. The sauce will be an amber, almost clear sauce at this point. Discard the bundle of cloves. Add orange slices if you like for garnish and pour sauce over the sliced, grill pork.

A Chinese style orange sauce to serve over rice to make vegan orange chicken, tofu, or cauliflower.
