This is an easy recipe for pan fried chickpeas. Seasoned with paprika, fresh parsley, lemon juice and garlic this nutritious snack can be enjoyed in so many ways!

Pan Fried Chickpeas

oz Cooked Chickpeas, drained (400 grams)

Fresh Parsley, chopped

Paprika

½ Lemon, juice only

Extra Virgin Olive Oil (See note 1)

Salt

½ teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional)

In a skillet/frying pan, heat the oil. Add cooked and drained chickpeas and roast until it turns brown-ish.

Season with salt, garlic powder, paprika, chopped parsley...

Season with salt, garlic powder, paprika, chopped parsley and drizzle with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Cook for a further minute or two before turning off the heat.

Serve either warm or cold.

Sautéed Chickpea Recipes

tbsp Olive Oil

½ tbsp Garlic Powder

tsp Ground Turmeric

⅛ tsp Black Pepper

Open canned chickpeas, rinse under running water then dry on a clean kitchen towel. Heat olive oil in a skillet/frying pan on medium heat.

Add chickpeas and sauteed until it turns golden crispy on the surface. Before adding the spices, turn the heat to very low to prevent spices burnt. Add ground turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until chickpeas are well coated (no more than 2-3 minutes to avoid burning the spices). .

Add lemon juice (optional, leave out if you prefer crispy texture) and stir.

Turning off the heat then finish it with chopped parsley. Serve as a side dish or with salad or rice.
