Paneer Tikka is popular Indian appetizer made with cubes of paneer &amp; veggies marinated with yogurt and spices. Traditionally it's grilled in a tandoor but you can make the same version in the oven with this easy recipe!&nbsp;

Paneer Tikka

greek yogurt

ginger-garlic paste

Whisk the yogurt in a large bowl until smooth. I have used greek yogurt here, you can use regular yogurt just make sure to strain it for several hours until you have thick yogurt left and then use in the recipe.

Add all the ingredients for marinade to the yogurt- ginger garlic paste, mustard oil, coriander powder, chaat masala, kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, red chili powder, kasuri methi and salt.

Whisk to combine everything together.&nbsp;Add in juice of 1 lemon along with chopped cilantro and mint. Mix well.

Stir in the paneer cubes, onion and bell peppers.

Mix until all the paneer pieces and veggies are well coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for minimum for 1 hour or up to 4 hours.  Overnight also works!

After 1-2 hours, take the marinated paneer and veggies out of the refrigerator. Take a skewer and arrange paneer, onion and peppers on a skewer, alternating with each other.Make all skewers similarly. Meanwhile pre-heat oven to 450 F degrees. Make sure you pre-heat the oven for good 15-20 minutes.

Arrange all the prepared skewers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray the tikka with a oil spray. This is important so that the veggies don't dry out.

Bake at 450 F degrees for 10 minutes and then turn on the broil. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes until paneer pieces look little charred.

Remove from oven, squeeze lemon juice, sprinkle chaat masala and serve with cilantro mint chutney.

Tandoori Paneer Tikka recipe is a Indian appetizer where paneer &amp; vegetables are marinated in yogurt and spices and cooked in air fryer, oven.

Paneer Tikka - Air Fryer/ Oven/ Grill

hung curd ((or greek yogurt))

besan/gram flour (or chickpea flour)

turmeric powder

kashmiri red chilli powder

cumin powder

chaat masala powder

garam masala ((or tandoori masala powder))

kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

lemon juice ((or amchur powder))

salt (to taste)

paneer (about 2 cups) (cut into 1-inch cubes)

In a large bowl add hung curd, besan, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chaat masala, kasuri methi, lemon juice, salt, oil, and mix everything together.Add the paneer, bell peppers and onion. Toss well to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for atleast 30 minutes or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

Meanwhile, soak wooden skewers in cold water for at least 10 minutes which prevents them from burning while in the air fryer, oven or grilling.Take a skewer, gently thread paneer, bell peppers and onion on a skewer, alternating with each other. Similarly prepare the remaining screwers.

Marinade

Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C). Arrange all the prepared skewers inside the basket ½-inch apart in a single layer. Brush or spray some oil on the top, this ensures the paneer and veggies don&#39;t dry out.

Cook for 5 minutes at 360°F (180°C). After 5 minutes, turn the skewers, lightly spray or brush with oil and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove in a serving plate, squeeze some lime juice, sprinkle chaat masala and serve it immediately with mint chutney.

Air Fryer Method

Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange all the prepared skewers ½-inch apart in a single layer. Brush or spray some oil on the top, this ensures the veggies don&#39;t dry out. Bake for 10 minutes and then broil the skewers on high for 2 to 3 minutes to get slightly charred edges.

Oven Method

Preheat the grill. Line the outdoor grill with aluminum foil to prevent the paneer from sticking. Arrange all the prepared skewers ½-inch apart in a single layer. Brush or spray some oil on the top, this ensures the veggies don&#39;t dry out. Cook for 10-12 minutes, by turning halfway through.

Grill Method

You can make this paneer tikka on stove-top even if you don&#39;t have an air fryer, oven or a grill. A stovetop grill pan or even a tawa or pan will work.Heat the pan or tawa over medium high heat, brush or spray some oil on the pan first. Then arrange all the prepared skewers in a single layer. Again lightly brush or spray some oil on the top. Cook from both sides until it’s turns golden brown in color.

For this easy appetiser recipe, cut paneer into large and thick slices.

Prepare a marinade using all the marinade ingredients and mix well. Keep aside.

Coat the paneer slices with this marinade and add the thick tomato slices, onion and capsicum slices into the remaining marinade and marinate them as well. Keep aside for 15 minutes.

Cook the tikka in Tandoor and enjoy it with onion rings and green chutney.

This Restaurant Style Paneer Tikka is a popular and delicious tandoori snack where paneer (Indian cottage cheese cubes) are marinated in a spiced yogurt-based marinade, arranged on skewers and grilled in the oven.

Paneer Tikka Recipe (Restaurant Style)

Paneer (or Indian cottage cheese)

onions (or 1 medium sized onion)

½ diced capsicum (or 1 small to medium bell pepper

Hung Curd (or greek yogurt)

Ginger Garlic Paste (or 1 tablespoon crushed ginger-garlic)

kashmiri red chili powder (or 2 teaspoons sweet paprika)

turmeric powder ((ground turmeric))

cumin powder ((ground cumin))

Coriander Powder ((ground coriander))

½ teaspoon Garam Masala

ajwain ((carom seeds))

mango powder ((amchur powder))

black pepper powder

lemon juice

mustard oil (or any neutral tasting oil)

black salt (- optional)

salt

Chop the paneer in square shaped cubes.

Dice the onions and capsicum in 1 or 1.5 inches square pieces.

Preparation

In a large bowl, take the hung curd (greek yogurt) and whisk it lightly till it becomes smooth

Add ginger-garlic paste, all the spice powders, carom seeds, black salt, regular salt, lemon juice and mustard oil.

Mix very well. Check the taste and add more seasonings if required.

Add the veggies and paneer to the marinade. Slowly and gently mix them with the marinade.

Cover the bowl and marinate for at least 2 hours or more in the refrigerator.

After 2 hours thread the paneer and veggies alternately on bamboo skewers. Soak or rinse the bamboo skewers before threading. 

Making Marination

Preheat the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 230 or 240 degree celsius or 464 degrees Fahrenheit. Use only the top heating element. 

Line a baking tray with aluminium foil or parchment paper. Arrange the paneer skewers on the tray. Brush some oil on the veggies and paneer cubes all over.

Place the tray on the top rack. Grill the paneer tikka first for 7 to 10 minutes at 230 or 240 degree celsius or or 464 degrees Fahrenheit. Then remove and turn the skewers.

Place back on the top rack in the oven and continue to grill for 3 to 5 minutes more till the edges of the paneer are golden or slightly charred. Do not grill for a long time as then paneer cubes becomes hard. 

Since temperatures vary from oven to oven do keep a check. You can reduce or increase the time as required. Total grilling time will be 15 to 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven and then place the paneer cubes on a serving plate. Sprinkle some chaat masala and lemon juice.

Easy Air fryer Paneer Tikka

500 g paneer

Bell

Red Onion (150 grams)

Greek yogurt (180 grams)

chickpea flour

tbsp ginger garlic paste

turmeric

1½ tsp Kashmiri chilli powder

tsp cumin

tsp coriander

½ tsp chaat masala

¾ tsp garam Masala

tsp black pepper

tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)

Lemon Juice

tbsp sunflower oil

Prep the paneer and veggie: Cut the paneer to cubes - 2-2.5 cm. Soak in Hot water for at least 10 minutes. Drain. Dice the onion and peppers to a similar size.

Tandoori Yogurt marinade: Combine all the ingredients other than oil in a mixing bowl until smooth. Heat oil in a pan until really hot. Then add it to the yogurt marinade. Mix to combine.

Thread the skewers, starting with peppers, onion, paneer and alternate. Repeat.If you don&#39;t have skewers, not to worry, simply add it to a baking tray or air fryer basket without overlapping.

Preheat the air fryer to 360°F / 180°C. Arrange the paneer tikka skewers in the air fryer basket and air fry for 8-10 minutes until the paneer is still soft but the outer layer is crispy. You&#39;ll hear the sizzle as it cooks!

Remove from air fryer basket and serve with garlic naan, lemon wedges and Green Chutney.

Air fryer Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C. Arrange the paneer tikka skewers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place the tray in the oven and cook for 15-18 minutes or until the tikka is sizzling, and the paneer is crispy on the outside yet tender inside. Serve hot!
