Like most stews this tastes better left overnight and reheated the next day making it a great dish to prepare in advance for an evening with friends.

500 grams/1lb 2 ounces curd cheese (available from some large supermarkets)

375 milliliters/13fl oz double cream

caster sugar

grams/1¾oz cornflour

100 grams/3½ oz strawberry jam

strawberries,

cream,

Inspired by their travels in Eastern Europe the Hairy Bikers give New York style cheesecake a Polish twist with vodka infused strawberries.

These sweet pierogi topped with crystallised mint make for an impressive dessert. You could try adding strawberries and raspberries to this recipe or using any summer berries you fancy.
