pimento cheese dip

Pimento Cheese Dip Recipe

cream cheese (softened)

mayonnaise

garlic powder

paprika

red pepper flakes

cheddar cheese

Jalapeño (deseeded and minced (optional))

pimentos (drained)

Add Ingredients to Food Processor

Add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes to the bowl of a food processor and pulse until they are fully combined, about 30 seconds.

Pulse

Next, add the cheddar cheese, jalapeños (if desired), and pimentos. Pulse just to combine; you don’t want to chop the cheese too much.

Serve

Enjoy the pimento cheese as desired with cracker, veggies, or as a spread. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.

A melted blend of savory cheeses, a few spices, sliced pimentos, and mild crackers for dipping make this Kentucky Derby appetizer a crowd-pleasing favorite.

Hot Pimento Cheese Dip

Worcestershire sauce

hot sauce

mustard

salt (to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

cheddar cheese (shredded)

pepper jack cheese (shredded)

onion

crackers or veggies (for dipping)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a shallow baking dish with cooking spray, then set aside.

Using a stand mixer (or a hand mixer + large bowl), beat mayonnaise, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, ground mustard, salt, and pepper on medium-high speed until mostly smooth, about 3-5 minutes.

Remove bowl from mixer and add cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, pimentos, and green onion to bowl. Use a spatula to gently fold all the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.

Pour cheese mixture into prepared baking dish and gently smooth out the top so that it's flat.

Bake dip for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve dip immediately with crackers or veggies for dipping.

This quick and easy flavor-packed Southern Pimento Cheese Recipe takes less than ten minutes to make and is a friend and family favorite appetizer.

Southern Pimento Cheese

A southern staple now served warm, this Hot Pimento Cheese Dip must be kept in your recipe box under delicious appetizer cuisine.

oz cream cheese (softened)

tsp salt (to taste)

tsp black pepper (to taste)

tsp garlic

tsp sweet paprika

tbsp yellow onion (minced)

green onions (finely sliced)

bacon (crumbled)

oz pimento peppers (drained and dried (2-4 oz jars))

red peppers

oz extra sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)

oz Monterey Jack cheese (shredded)

Grate the cheeses, slice/mince the onions, crumble (and cook if necessary) the bacon, drain and dry the pimentos, and drain, dry, and chop roasted red peppers.

Prep

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Add the mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, salt, black pepper, ground mustard, granulated garlic, sweet paprika, and Worcestershire sauce to a large mixing bowl and cream everything together using an electric mixer until smooth.

Fold in the crumbled bacon, sliced green onions (reserving some green parts for garnish), diced pimentos, minced onion, and chopped roasted red peppers by hand using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.

Stir in the shredded cheeses by the handful to the creamy pepper mixture. Do not add it all at once, as it could clump. Scraping down the sides while combining.

Add the cheese mixture to the cast iron skillet, garnish with reserved green onions, and bake for 15-20 minutes. For extra golden brown top, once baked, place under the broiler for a minute or two.

Serve and enjoy.
