Repurpose your leftover pizza toppings into this deliciously simple Italian style pizza pasta salad. Including a simple homemade Italian dressing!

Italian Pizza Pasta Salad

Make the Italian dressing first so the flavors have a few minutes to blend. Add the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Parmesan to a bowl or jar. Whisk the ingredients together, or place a lid on the jar and shake until combined. Set the dressing aside.

Cook the rotini according to the package directions (boil for 7-10 minutes, or until tender). Drain the pasta in a colander and rinse briefly with cool water. Let the pasta drain well, shaking the colander every few minutes to remove excess water from the pasta.

While the pasta is cooking and draining, prepare the other pasta salad ingredients. Cut the pepperoni in half or into quarters, and chop the mozzarella into small cubes. Dice the bell pepper and red onion. Drain the banana pepper rings and black olives.

When the pasta is cooked, cooled, and drained well, transfer it to a large bowl. Add the rest of the prepared ingredients (pepperoni, mozzarella, bell pepper, red onion, banana peppers, and black olives). Toss the ingredients to combine.

Give the dressing another shake or stir before drizzling it over the pasta salad. Toss the pasta salad once again to coat everything in the dressing. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat.

Pizza toppings

Preheat oven to 275°C/530°F, or as high as it will go. Place oven shelf in top third of oven.

Stretch dough to form pizza base and slide onto baking pan.

Follow topping directions below, then place in oven.

Turn pizza at 4 minutes so it cooks evenly, and check at 8 minutes (even if recipe says 10 minutes). Take out early if cheese gets too brown.

Spread pizza sauce over base, followed by cheese.

Distribute pepperoni over pizza, and bake.

Scatter remaining ingredients over pizza, and bake.

Spread barbecue sauce over base, followed by cheese.

BBQ Meatlovers

Toss prawns/shrimp with salt.

Heat butter over medium heat in a skillet or heavy frying pan until frothing. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

Cook prawns for 1 minute on one side until just starting to brown. Flip prawns, cook 1 minute more and remove. Reserve garlic butter.

Scatter remaining ingredients except rocket over pizza, top with prawns. Bake until done.

Drizzle reserved garlic butter over prawns and scatter with rocket.

Scatter remaining ingredients over pizza, and bake. (Note 2)

Sausage &amp; Kale

Spread pizza sauce over base. Drizzle 1 tbsp of oil over base, and bake.

After 5 minutes, remove pizza from oven. Tear buffalo mozzarella into 10 pieces and distribute over pizza. Continue baking until pizza is done.

Drizzle with remaining olive oil, and scatter with basil leaves.

Margherita

Capricciosa

Spread mozzarella cheese over base. Scatter provolone, parmesan and finally blue cheese over pizza. Bake.

Quattro Formaggio (Four Cheese Pizza)

Spread pizza sauce over base, followed by cheese. Drizzle 1 tbsp oil over pizza and bake.

2 minutes before the pizza is done, remove from oven. Drape prosciutto casually around the pizza.

Continue baking until done. Scatter rocket over pizza and drizzle with a little more olive oil.

Scatter remaining ingredients over pizza, taking special care to spread the garlic very well so you don&#039;t have big clumps, and bake.

Cheese &amp; Garlic

Spread mozzarella cheese over base.

Arrange potato slices over pizza, each slice overlapping no more than 1/3 so it will cook through properly.

Sprinkle over the rosemary and salt, and drizzle with the olive oil. Bake for the standard cooking time given. Check with a fork or skewer that the potato is tender. If not fully cooked, cook another 2 minutes.

Make the pizza dough

Follow the Best Pizza Dough or Thin Crust Dough recipe to prepare the dough. (This takes about 15 minutes to make and 45 minutes to rest.) Or use one of the alternate dough methods.*

Place a pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 500°F. OR preheat your pizza oven (here’s the pizza oven we use).

Make the pizza sauce

Peel and cut the garlic into a few rough pieces. Place the garlic, fire roasted tomatoes, olive oil, oregano and kosher salt in a blender. Blend until fully combined. (You&#8217;ll use about 1/3 cup for the pizza; reserve the remaining sauce and refrigerate for up to 1 week.)

Prepare the dough

When the oven is ready, dust a pizza peel with cornmeal or semolina flour. (If you don&#8217;t have a pizza peel, you can use a rimless baking sheet or the back of a rimmed baking sheet. But a pizza peel is well worth the investment!)

Roll the dough (Thin Crust Pizza Dough)

If you&#8217;re making Thin Crust Dough, place it on a lightly floured surface and gently press it into a circle, adding a pinch of flour if it is too sticky. Then roll out the dough into a circle about 11 inches in diameter, using just enough flour on each side to keep it from sticking. If the dough starts to resist rolling, wait for a minute or two, at which point it will roll out more easily.

Spread a thin layer of the pizza sauce over the dough, using about 1/3 cup. Add the mozzarella cheese (and if using, goat cheese or other types of cheese). Top with a thin layer of fresh grated Parmesan cheese and a few pinches of kosher salt.

Use the pizza peel to carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone. Bake the pizza until the cheese and crust are nicely browned, about 5 to 7 minutes in the oven (or 1 minute in a pizza oven).

Allow the pizza to cool for a minute or two before adding the basil leaves on top (whole leaves, lightly torn, or thinly sliced). Slice into pieces and serve immediately.

Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Place a flat baking sheet in the oven to heat up. Spread 2 tbsp tomato sauce on each pizza base. Carefully slide the bases onto the baking sheet and cook following pack instructions.

Five mins before the cooking time is up, scatter over the ham, dot the ricotta on top in spoonfuls and continue cooking. Season and drizzle the pesto over each pizza.
