A quick, light and healthy pasta recipe that&#8217;s easy to make and, with the combination of prawn, lemon, chilli and garlic, even easier to consume.

Spaghetti with prawns and chilli

dried spaghetti

olive oil

garlic cloves, crushed

vine-ripened tomatoes,

rocket leaves

Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to pack instructions or until the pasta is al dente.

Shortly before the spaghetti is ready, put the oil and garlic into a large deep frying pan or shallow saucepan over a medium-high heat. As soon as the garlic starts to sizzle, add the chillies and fry for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and fry for a further minute. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, prawns and some seasoning and cook for 11/2-2 minutes, until the prawns are heated through.

Drain the spaghetti and add to the pan of prawns with the rocket and toss together well. Divide between 4 warmed pasta bowls and serve.

Pesto King Prawn Pasta

Pasta (Linguine, Spaghetti, Fusilli Lunghi)

tsp Olive Oil

tsp Garlic Puree (or 2 cloves crushed garlic)

tsp Chilli Puree (1 finely chopped/ crushed chilli pepper)

Raw King Prawns

Cherry Tomatoes (Halved)

190 gram Basil Pesto

Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Parmesan (Grated to serve)

tbsp Fresh Basil Leaves (Optional)

Pasta

Bring a large pan of salted water to boil over high heat, cook pasta to time on packet instructions.

Meanwhile, heat olive oil, garlic and chilli in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Prawns

Add king prawns, stir them through the oil.

Cook

Then add cherry tomatoes and season with salt &amp; pepper.Cook on medium heat for 5-8 mins. Stirring occasionally.

Drain

Pesto

Add basil pesto stir in on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until warmed through.

Parmesan

Serve prawn pasta with a generous scattering of parmesan, salt and pepper and some fresh basil leaves.Enjoy!!

Our delicious chilli, prawn and garlic linguine recipe is elegant enough for a dinner party but light enough to be enjoyed for dinner during the week

Chilli prawn linguine

linguine pasta

sugar snap peas, trimmed

garlic cloves, finely chopped

red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped

prawns,

cherry tomatoes, halved

basil leaves

salad

tbsp virtually fat-free fromage frais

limes

golden caster sugar

To make the dressing, mix 2 tbsp virtually fat-free fromage frais, the grated zest and juice of 2 limes and 2 tsp golden caster sugar in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Cook 280g linguine pasta according to the packet instructions. Add 200g trimmed sugar snap peas for the last minute or so of cooking time.

Meanwhile, heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a wok or big frying pan, toss in 2 finely chopped large garlic cloves and 1 deseeded and finely chopped large red chilli and cook over a fairly gentle heat for about 30 seconds without letting the garlic brown.

Tip in 24 peeled raw king prawns and cook over a high heat, stirring frequently, for about 3 minutes until they turn pink.

Add 12 halved cherry tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes until they just start to soften.

Drain the linguine pasta and sugar snap peas well, then toss into the prawn mixture.

Tear in a handful of basil leaves, stir, and season with salt and pepper.

Serve with mixed salad leaves drizzled with the lime dressing, and warm crusty white bread.

half-fat crème fraîche

pack basil, leaves only, torn

Heat the oil in a large pan, add the garlic and sizzle for a few mins, then add the courgettes and cook for a few mins more until starting to soften. Cook the pasta following pack instructions.

Add the tomatoes, sugar and seasoning to the pan, stir and simmer, uncovered, for about 10 mins while the pasta cooks.

Add the prawns to the sauce and bubble until they just turn pink. Drain the pasta and add to the sauce with the crème fraîche. Simmer for another 1-2 mins, then add the basil and serve.
