Instant Pot Salmon with Orange Ginger Sauce

Salmon Fillets

Place salmon in a ziplock bag or in a&nbsp; 6-inch pan that fits inside your Instant Pot

Mix all the sauce ingredient and pour over the salmon. Allow it to marinate for 15-30 minutes.

Put 2 cups of water in the inner liner of your pressure cooker.

Place a steamer rack into the liner.

Place the pan of salmon and sauce on the rack.

Cook for 3 Minutes low pressure.

Allow it to release pressure naturally for 5 mins and then release all remaining pressure.

At this point, you can serve right away or broil for 3-4 minutes for a browned finish.

(60 milliliters) Japanese cooking sake

¼ teaspoon (1.25 milliliters) sesame oil

(28 grams) white sugar

Pressure Cook Salmon: Add 4 crushed garlic cloves and 1 - 2 slice (5g) ginger in Instant Pot. Layer 2 salmon steaks on the garlic cloves.&nbsp;To make teriyaki sauce, mix ¼ cup (60ml) Japanese soy sauce or regular soy sauce, ¼ cup (60ml) mirin, ¼ cup (60ml) Japanese cooking sake, ¼ tsp (1.25ml) sesame oil, and 2 tbsp (28g) white sugar together. Pour Teriyaki sauce on the salmon.&nbsp;Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 0 minute (zero minute) and Natural Release for 10 minutes. *Note: 0 (zero) minute is not a typo!&nbsp;Check internal temperature at its’ thickest part with an accurate food thermometer.*Pro Tips: The USFDA recommends cooking salmon to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), but anything over 125°F (52°C) is fine for farmed Atlantic Salmon. If the salmon is below 125°F (52°C), place the lid back on and let the residual heat cook the salmon.

Thicken Teriyaki Sauce: Carefully place cooked salmon on a serving plate. *Note: The salmon's internal temperature will continue to rise.&nbsp;Bring the teriyaki sauce back to a simmer by pressing the "Cancel" button, then "Saute" button.&nbsp;Mix 2.5 tbsp (22.5g) cornstarch with 3 tbsp (45ml) cold water in a small mixing bowl. Add the cornstarch mixture one third at a time to thicken the teriyaki sauce until desired thickness.&nbsp;*Pro Tip: You don't have to use all the cornstarch thickener. Use accordingly to your taste.

Serve Instant Pot Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce: Drizzle teriyaki sauce on the Salmon steaks. *Optional: use a blowtorch to slightly caramelize the teriyaki sauce on the salmon.&nbsp;Garnish with sesame seeds and finely sliced green onion. Tikka masala combines two iconic Indian dishes: makhani and tandoori. It is essentially tandoori-spiced meat in a makhani sauce. And it turns out that making it in the Instant Pot is so much easier and just as tasty as making it on the stove. Salmon holds up to the layers of spice and retains its shape in the sauce. A splash of heavy cream rounds out this sharp and spicy curry.

Instant Pot Salmon Tikka Masala Recipe {Pressure Cooker}

Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Ginger (grated fresh)

Kashmiri red chili powder

Garam masala

Ground turmeric (Haldi powder)

In a stainless-steel bowl that will fit in the Instant Pot, combine the lemon juice, ginger, garlic, chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, and salt and stir to mix.

Add the salmon to the marinade and turn to evenly coat with the spices. Set aside.

To make the marinade:

Select the high Sauté setting and heat the oil. Add the onion and salt and sauté until the onion turns translucent, about 5 minutes. Cover the pot with a glass lid (or other nonlocking lid that fits) to speed up the process. Add the ginger and garlic and sauté until aromatic, about 1 minute. Add the tomato puree, chili powder,&nbsp;turmeric, and garam masala. Press the Cancel button to turn off the Instant Pot. Pour in the water and stir well with a wooden spoon, nudging loose any browned bits from the pot bottom.

Place a tall steam rack in the pot, making sure all of its legs are resting firmly on the bottom. Place the bowl of salmon on the rack.

Secure the lid and set the Pressure Release to Sealing. Select the Pressure Cook or Manual setting and set the cooking time for 4 minutes at high pressure.

Perform a quick release by moving the Pressure Release to Venting. Press the Cancel button to turn off the Instant Pot. Open the pot and, wearing heat-resistant mitts, remove the bowl of salmon to a trivet and remove the rack.

Stir the heavy cream into the curry, then crush the fenugreek leaves with the palms of your hands to release the aromas and stir them in as well. Select the high Sauté setting and carefully add the salmon to the curry, turning it to evenly coat. Cook until the curry comes to a gentle boil and is heated through, 2 to 3 minutes. Press the Cancel button to turn off the Instant Pot.

Spoon the curry onto plates and serve the rice, naan, and lemon wedges alongside.
