Just a fancy name for a delicious, super versatile raspberry sauce, this Easy Raspberry Coulis pairs fabulously with chocolate and a zillion other desserts!

Easy Raspberry Coulis

Combine sugar and water (or orange juice) in a 1 cup (or larger) microwave-safe cup or bowl. Stir to combine. The mixture will be very thick.

Cook in the microwave on high power for two minutes. Stir for 5-10 seconds to ensure that the sugar crystals are dissolved.

Combine frozen raspberries and hot syrup in a blender container. Blend until the mixture is smooth and pureed.

Pour puree through a fine-mesh strainer set over a medium-size bowl. Stir and push on the solids with the back of a rubber spatula until all of the liquid has been extracted. This will take several minutes as the mixture will be thick.

Discard the seeds. Add the liqueur, if using and stir to combine.

Store in the refrigerator for 5-7 days or in the freezer for 2-3 months.

Ridiculously Easy Raspberry Coulis

This simple and easy raspberry sauce or raspberry coulis is made with just 3 ingredients - fresh or frozen raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. It&#39;s the perfect topping for cheesecake, ice cream, cakes, and other desserts!

Easy Raspberry Sauce

oz raspberries (fresh or frozen; about 3⅓ cups)

lemon juice (or more)

Heat

Heat: Add the raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan and bring to a boil while mashing the raspberries to break them down. Once it boils, turn off the heat and adjust with more sugar or lemon juice as needed.

Strain the seeds

Strain: Strain the raspberry sauce through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds. Press firmly to extract all of the pulp as that is what thickens the sauce. If desired, thin with a teaspoon of water at a time, keeping in mind the sauce thickens as it cools (the sauce in the photo was not thinned). See Note 1.

Serve

Serve: Add to cheesecake, cakes, ice cream, or other desserts. Enjoy!

3-Ingredient Raspberry Coulis

(6 ounces fresh raspberries)

Add the raspberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest to a medium saucepan. Using a fork or pastry blender, mash the berries until they begin to release their juices.

Set the pan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved and the berries have broken down.

Place a fine mesh strainer over a heatproof bowl and pour the raspberry coulis through the sieve. Use a spoon to gently stir the sauce and force it through the sieve. Discard the seeds.

Allow the sauce to cool completely before enjoying.
