Rasta Pasta Recipe

(450 grams) pasta

chicken breasts (or 2 cups of shredded rotisserie chicken)

vegetable oil (1 tbsp

jerk seasoning (1.5 tbsp

bell peppers (preferably

onions

garlic (minced)

(60 ml) vegetable or chicken stock

½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream

(80 grams) parmesan cheese (grated)

Cook pasta according to the package instructions, take it out at "al dente" as you will cook it more in the next steps.

I&#x27;m using rotisserie chicken in this recipe, but if you are using raw chicken breast then cube it, toss in jerk seasoning and cook until it&#x27;s golden and cooked through. Then remove from the pot, and set aside to add later.

Add vegetable oil to a heavy bottomed pot, and saute bell peppers with green onions. Add the minced garlic and cook until it's fragrant.

Add jerk seasoning to the pot.

Add heavy cream, chicken and vegetable stock to the pot. Simmer for a few minutes or until the sauce thickens, mix in the parmesan in the sauce and then mix in the pasta.

Garnish with chopped chives, green onions or parsley and serve.

penne pasta

chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lb.)

Kosher salt

extra-virgin olive oil, divided

green bell pepper, sliced

red bell pepper, sliced

orange bell pepper, sliced

c. low-sodium chicken broth

heavy cream

c. Parmesan,

What's your favorite protein to eat with pasta?

Cook pasta according to package instructions to al dente. Drain and set aside. Season chicken breasts all over with 1 tablespoon jerk seasoning and salt. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon oil. Cook chicken until golden and no longer pink, 8 minutes per side. Remove from pan and set aside to rest.

Add remaining oil and cook peppers until mostly tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Add green onions and garlic and cook&nbsp;until fragrant, 1 minute. Season with remaining jerk seasoning.&nbsp;

Add chicken broth and heavy cream and let simmer until thickened, 5 minutes. Slice chicken. Add Parmesan and stir until melted, then add pasta and chicken and toss until completely combined.&nbsp;

Garnish with green onions and more Parmesan and serve.

I just made this and I did not measure the jerk seasoning. I just seasoned the chicken with my jerk seasoning to my liking then I seasoned the veggies with my favorite seasoning (so it wouldn't be to sweet or spicy). I needed a bit more milk/cream to give me a sauce but it was delicious and I would make it again!

My daughter loved this!! I was skeptical after reading the reviews. I followed this whole thing to a tee. I just added a cup of heavy cream. 1 cup of Parm. Added my own seasonings, garlic powder, Adobe, black pepper, onion powder and plenty of jerk seasoning (Caribbean’s Tradition) brand which isn’t so overly spicy. And a half box of noodles. As stated you won’t have enough sauce to cover noodles if you use a whole box. The amount of cream you use will play the part in that! But it was delicious! A most try regardless of it authenticity. Looks like a yummy recipe but I think Rasta Pasta should be vegan with coconut milk instead of dairy products.

Beginner here and it came out awesome! Used Jamaican jerk seasoning didn’t realize I grabbed that from supermarket lol. Either way it came out great and most importantly my wife thought so too and expects me to keep cooking. Yeah right. Made this as our anniversary dinner

This was bad & flavorless. There needs to be wayyyy more seasoning, and maybe even more "sauce" for the amount of noodles it calls for. I think the idea is there & with some tweaking may be better but i won't be trying this again.

Vegan rasta pasta dish

pasta (rice brown or chickpea fusilli, heaping)

onion

scallion (sliced)

full fat coconut milk

tbsp of jerk marinade/sauce (vary

coconut oil

Bring the pasta to a boil for 5-7 minutes (with 1 tbsp of pink salt), then drain/rinse in a colander and set side.

Meanwhile, on medium heat, melt the coconut oil and saute the onion, garlic and scallion until soft

Add all of the bell peppers to the pan, pour in the ¼ cup of water, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet and allow to steam for 10 minutes.

Once steamed, increase the heat to medium and stir in the tomatoes and jerk marinade.

Add the pasta, turmeric and pour the coconut milk into the skillet and combine all of the ingredients together.

Allow the pasta to cook some more with the coconut milk for a further 3-4 minutes.

Finally stir in the vegan cheese and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with thyme (loosen from stem to sprinkle) and black pepper.

Serve accordingly

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, cook pasta according to the package directions, drain and aside.

Place a large saucepan on medium heat and add coconut oil.

Add chopped onions and cook for about 3 minutes until they turn soft and translucent.

Add green onions, minced garlic, ginger, thyme and cook for a minute.

Next, stir in tomatoes, allspice, curry powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Once the tomatoes are soft, add bell peppers, Bragg's liquid aminos, coconut milk, cayenne pepper, or Scotch bonnet pepper and salt.

Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 7 minutes until the sauce is thickened.

Add vegan cheese or nutritional yeast flakes and stir until melted.

Scoop on a plate and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

This dish came out so good! When I was cooking it, my fiancé already knew it was going to be tasty because of the delicious aroma! This is absolutely AMAZING! I make my own pasta w/whole wheat unbleached unprocessed flour, and add mushrooms to it. I don't use salt, oil, &amp; I reduce garlic. The coconut milk I use is low fat and condensed. It's a staple in my household!
