Salisbury Steak Meatballs

beef (lean)

breadcrumbs (I used Panko)

ketchup

mustard (coarse grain)

Worcestershire sauce

seasoning salt

pepper

onion powder

olive oil (for frying)

butter (unsalted)

onion

all-purpose flour (or cornstarch)

beef broth chicken

½ teaspoon seasoning salt

parsley

Make meatballs.

Add all the meatball ingredients (excluding the olive oil) to a large bowl and mix well, use your hands. Shape into 1 inch meatballs. You should get about 30 meatballs.

Fry the meatballs.

Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat over medium to high heat. Add meatballs and cook. If you&#39;re using a large skillet all meatballs should fit in one batch otherwise, you might have to fry them in a couple batches. Cook the meatballs on all sides, add more oil if needed. Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.

Sauté the onion.

To the same skillet add butter and melt. Add onion and cook until onion is soft and translucent.

Make the gravy.

Sprinkle the flour over the onion and stir. Cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste. (If using cornstarch make a slurry with equal amounts water and cornstarch) Add broth and remaining gravy ingredients to skillet, and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, sauce should thicken. If the sauce is too thick add a bit more beef broth. Taste for seasoning and adjust as necessary.

Finish the meatballs.

When the gravy is done add the meatballs back to the skillet and toss them around so they&#39;re covered in the gravy. Garnish with parsley.

Salisbury Steak Meatballs and Noodles

lbs lean ground beef

onions, (chopped)

bread crumbs

tsp parsley

tsp pepper

red peppers

Tbsp butter

beef broth

Tbsp all purpose flour

garlic, (minced)

oz mushrooms, (sliced)

tsp salt

egg noodles

tsp corn starch

water

In a medium mixing bowl, mix ground beef, onions, egg, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, crushed red peppers and pepper together.&nbsp;Make small size meatballs (should get about 24).

Add 1 tablespoon of butter to cast iron pan, or large frying pan, and after butter melts, add meatballs.

Heat over medium heat, cook until all sides are pan seared then remove from pan, place on a plate.

Drain any excess grease, if needed.&nbsp;

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and sauté onions and garlic for 3-4 minutes scraping pan drippings. 

Add mushrooms and continue cooking for 2 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and onions. Stir, cook for another 2 minutes.

Pour beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper into pan. Stir for a few minutes and place meatballs back into the pan. Stir.&nbsp;

Cover pan, cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The gravy will also thicken up as it cools. And if the gravy seems to thin mix 1 tsp corn starch with 1/8 cup water, then add to pan, stir and let simmer for a few more minutes.

In a large saucepan, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Rinse and set aside.&nbsp;

Once noodles are cooked and meatballs are done, mix together and enjoy!

Quick &amp; easy Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak Meatballs are an easy prep slow cooker dinner that starts with frozen meatballs. The best part is the rich brown gravy sauce that creates itself from packets of seasoning mix and beef broth. Serve over mashed potatoes for a delicious dinner idea tonight. 

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak Meatballs

(26 oz) frozen meatballs ((about 30-35 meatballs))

beef broth ((see notes))

brown gravy mix

onion soup mix

cornstarch ((see notes))

Spray the insert of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

Dump the frozen meatballs into the slow cooker.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix packet, onion soup mix packet, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. Pour this over the frozen meatballs and stir everything together. 

Cover with the lid and cook on LOW heat for 5-6 hours. 

When the cook time is done mix together the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl with a fork. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the crockpot and allow it cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the gravy has thickened. 

Serve the Salisbury steak meatballs over egg noodles or mashed potatoes (recommended), and garnish with chopped parsley. Enjoy!

OMG! this recipe is so good. I made homemade meatballs and put it in a cast iron pot in the oven. It turned out so good, I doubled the recipe and it was gone! Thank you for the dinner idea.
