Simple Salmon Bowl

dry rice of any type (or couscous

Make the rice

Start the rice (go to How to Make Rice or Instant Pot Rice).

Mix the sauce

Make the Tahini Sauce or Miso Sauce (or make in advance and refrigerate). 

Broil the salmon**

Preheat the broiler to high. Place a large sheet of aluminum foil on a baking sheet and brush it with olive oil. Pat each piece of salmon dry and place it on the foil skin side down. Brush salmon with a bit of olive oil and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (evenly divided among the fillets) and fresh ground pepper. Broil 4 to 5 minutes for very thin salmon or 7 to 10 minutes for 1-inch thick salmon, until it’s just tender and pink at the center (the internal temperature should be between 125 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit in the center). 

Meanwhile, make the broccoli

Chop the broccoli into medium sized florets. In small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup water with the garlic powder, onion powder and mustard powder. Add 3 tablespoons olive oil to a large skillet and heat it on medium high heat. Add broccoli and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. Cook 2 to 3 minutes until starting to brown, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium, and add the water and spices. Cook an additional 4 to 5 minutes until fork tender, stirring occasionally. Taste and add additional salt and black pepper as necessary. Serve immediately.

This viral TikTok salmon rice bowl is an internet sensation and once you taste it you'll know why. The flakey salmon, fluffy rice, and creamy, savory flavors of the sauces mixed together is enough to make your tastebuds rave. What's more, this recipe has just 4 steps and will take you less than 15 minutes to make!

Cilantro

Place the salmon in the base of a bowl and shred with a fork.

Top with the rice and place an ice cube in the middle of the plate. Microwave until warm and mix until well combined.

Add the soy sauce, mayo, and sriracha and mix to combine.

Top with the sliced avocado, seaweed snack, and chopped cilantro.

I loved this as a quick healthy meal option. I used the dressing the next day on a salad, delicious.

Soy Ginger Salmon Rice Bowl - this salmon rice bowl recipe is packed with flavor and so easy to make! The perfect weeknight dinner!

avocado oil (or olive oil)

fresh salmon, skin off and cut into 1 inch cubes

avocado oil

mango, diced

edamame, shelled

green onions, sliced

fresh cilantro, chopped

carrots, julienned

cucumbers

Sauce/Marinade

Combine the Marinade/Sauce ingredients in a mason jar. Place the cap on top and tightly close. Shake to combine. Set aside. (Note: about half of this sauce will be used to marinate the salmon, the rest will be used to pour over top the completed bowls).

Marinate Salmon

Place cubed salmon chunks in a medium-sized bowl or reusable silicone bag.  Pour a little less than half of the sauce over the salmon &#8211; just enough to coat the salmon. Reserve the rest for later. Toss to coat the salmon and place in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes or overnight. 

Sriracha Mayo

Combine the Sriracha Mayo in a small bowl; stir to combine. Taste and add any additional Sriracha, as-desired.

Prep Remaining Ingredients

While the salmon is marinating you can prep the rest of the ingredients: mango, edamame, green onions, cilantro, carrots, marinated cucumbers and rice.

Cook Salmon

Bring a large cast iron skillet to medium-high heat. Add avocado oil; swirl to coat the pan. Working in batches so you don&#8217;t crowd the pan, add the salmon pieces to the skillet and let cook approx. 2-3 minutes per side or until fully cooked. Remove and set on a plate to rest 5 minutes. 

Serve

Divide rice between bowls and top with mango, edamame, green onion, cilantro. carrots, marinated cucumbers and then cooked salmon along with some Sriracha mayo. Top salmon with remaining Marinade/Sauce and sprinkle with some sesame seeds if you want and enjoy! 

We loved this! Salmon was perfect. We omitted fish sauce because we didn’t have it on hand but it was still great! Will definitely make again.

The BEST Salmon Bowl recipe is quick to make, healthy, and incredibly fresh! A teriyaki salmon fillet is cooked in the air fryer (or grill/oven), set on top of a bed of rice, and topped with avocado, cucumber, mango, edamame, green onions, and cilantro.

Make Teriyaki Sauce (can made and refrigerated several days ahead): Add all of the sauce ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and boil for about 1 minute. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of the spoon. Allow to cool.

Marinate Salmon: Pour 1/4 cup of the teriyaki sauce over the raw salmon and set aside to marinate for at least 20 minutes or up to overnight.

Cook rice according to package instructions.

Cook Salmon: (I prefer the air fryer, but see baking and grilling instructions in notes.) Preheat air fryer to 400ºF. Spray basket with non-stick spray and place salmon filets inside. Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through (flakes easily with a fork, or about 125-135 degrees if testing with a thermometer).

Assemble Salmon Bowls: Divide rice among the bowls and top with a piece of teriyaki salmon, some avocado, edamame, mango and cucumber.

Garnish: Drizzle teriyaki and sriracha mayo over the top and garnish with chopped green onion and cilantro.

Mediterranean-style salmon bowls with crispy rice and flaky, perfectly seasoned seared salmon.  Use your leftover cooked rice here, it will crisp up better with a little bit of fat and heat.  I used basmati rice, but you can use any rice of your choosing! And while these salmon rice bowls are flavorful enough without any sauces, a drizzle of ladolemono, vegan green goddess sauce, or tzatziki doesn&#39;t hurt!

Crispy Salmon Rice Bowl Recipe

Feta cheese, (crumbled, optional)

In a medium mixing bowl, toss the salmon cubes with the spices, a large pinch of kosher salt, lemon zest, and a drizzle of good extra virgin olive oil. Put the salmon in the fridge for now or set it aside if you’re working fast on the rest.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, yogurt, and ghee. Mix well until the rice is fully coated with the yogurt.

Heat about 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil in a large non-stick pan. Spread the rice mixture in the bottom of the pan in one single layer and let it cook for 3 minutes or so undisturbed. Check the bottom of the rice, and if it has begun to crisp and turn golden brown, you can mix it up with a wooden spoon. Manage your heat down to medium to make sure the rice does not burn. Let the rice cook for 2 to 3 minutes at a time, mixing it occasionally with your wooden spoon, and spreading it well, until the majority of the rice is crispy and golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes in total).

While the rice is cooking, work on the toppings and the salmon. In another non-stick pan, heat 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. Add the bell peppers and onions and season with kosher salt, cook over high heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until crispy. Remove the vegetables to a side plate for now.

In the same pan where you cooked the vegetables, heat a little bit more extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the salmon cubes, making sure each piece is touching the hot pan directly. Reduce the heat to medium and allow the salmon to cook undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes or until the bottom is crispy and the middle flesh is looking more cooked, then turn over and cook for another 1 to 2 minute or so until it flakes easily at the touch of a fork.

Divide the crispy rice and salmon among 4 bowls. Top with the sauteed vegetables, fresh herbs, feta, and sun-dried tomatoes. If you like, add a drizzle of tahini green goddess sauce, tzatziki, or ladolemono to finish (optional).

This was so delicious and came together easily!

The recipe says zest and juice of one lemon, but I see on the video Suzy says only to use the zest. Is it a mistake on the recipe?

This was seriously delicious.   I could taste the lemon in every bite of salmon.  Great way to use up my leftover frozen rice-this time I had Tumeric Brown Rice.  Cooking for one is sometimes a challenge but this recipe is perfect.  I'll add more peppers and scallions next time and use a different rice.  I think leftover lentils might work in place of rice.

I cooked this recipe today and it was delicious! My 2 year old toddler devoured the crispy rice and the salmon. I added broccoli to the vegetables and they were so good.  Easy and delicious.

This is the most amazing salmon dish, everyone loved it, will definitely be made again and again.  Had some green goddess sauce left over from this dish so last night made the green goddess chicken - also amazing. Honey and sriracha make a sweet and spicy glaze for bite-sized salmon pieces. Add rice and some veggies, and you have a complete meal in no time!

Honey Sriracha Roasted Salmon Rice Bowls

Persian cucumbers (thinly sliced,

rice vinegar (plus more as needed)

Furikake seasoning (or sesame seeds, for garnish)

The avocado (Persea americana) is a tree that is native to South Central Mexico, classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae. Avocado (also alligator pear) also refers to the tree's fruit, which is botanically a large berry containing a single seed.

Preheat the broiler with a rack about 6 inches below it. Line a rimmed baking sheet with nonstick foil.

In a small bowl, combine the honey, sriracha, soy sauce, and ginger; stir with a fork until the honey dissolves.

Cut the salmon into 1-inch cubes and  place them on the baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each piece.

Brush the salmon with the glaze and cook under the broiler for 3 to 4 minutes, or until it’s easily flaked with a fork and golden on top.

Meanwhile, combine the sliced cucumber with the rice vinegar, sesame oil, and salt.

Place 3/4 cup rice in each bowl. Divide and top with salmon, sliced avocado, cucumber, and a drizzle of sriracha, if desired, plus a sprinkle of furikake seasoning.

If you’d like a little more acidity, add just a dash of rice vinegar.

To serve:

Delicious! The fish cooked quickly and was perfect. I used white  rice since I don't care for brown rice. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing!

We eat this a couple times a month and the family members who don’t love seafood love this recipe.  I usually double the sauce :)

Super simple recipe!!  Everyone loved it. Only complaint was that there wasn’t enough for seconds.  I couldn’t find Furikake seasoning at the store so I ordered on Amazon.

This is a delicious recipe! Very quick and easy.

My kids love this recipe! They request this for dinner often. The only change we made was we use the air fryer on them after letting them sit in the glaze for a few minutes. It might lose some of its glaze in the air fryer, but if the kids will eat it, I’m all about it!

This was so good! My whole family loved it and two of us are not salmon fans.

I’m not one to leave reviews but this recipe was amazing! One the only day the avocados were perfectly ripe, I decided to make this recipe. A perfect week eight dinner as it was super easy and very fresh and light. I was out of Sriracha so subbed the hoison in the marinade I had and used toasted sesame seeds. (Yum yum sauce for topping) Delish! Have since bought sriracha for next time!

This was a huge hit with my entire family!  We swapped the salmon for shrimp because that’s what I had and I followed the instructions except for reducing the cooking time by a few minutes.

I have made this several times and it is amazing exactly as written, however a couple of times I added spicy crab (the kind that you get on the top of a sushi roll) and it was soooo good! Don't skip the furikake seasoning... that combined with the marinated cucumber and avocado make it taste like a sushi roll!
