This creamy Tuscan sausage gnocchi is the ultimate comfort food! Italian sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, garlic, cream, and fresh basil make the most amazing sauce.

Creamy Tuscan Sausage Gnocchi

Italian sausages (crumbled)

garlic (minced)

chicken broth

heavy/whipping cream

lemon juice

sun-dried tomatoes

potato gnocchi

(packed) fresh baby spinach

parmesan cheese

basil (optional) (to taste)

Salt & pepper (to taste)

Take the sausage meat out of the casings and crumble it into a deep skillet. Sauté the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up as you go along, until browned (about 5-7 minutes).

Stir in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.

Add the chicken broth, cream, lemon juice, sun-dried tomatoes, and gnocchi to the pan. Give it a good stir.

Reduce the heat to medium and cover the pan. Cook for 5 minutes.

Give the gnocchi a stir and then add in the spinach. Cover the pan again for 1-2 minutes until the spinach has wilted.

Stir in the parmesan and basil (if using). Ensure the gnocchi is cooked through and the sauce is thickened to your liking (cook for another minute or two if necessary). Season with salt &amp; pepper to taste and serve immediately.

One Pot Creamy Sausage Gnocchi

16 oz pkg gnocchi

spinach

mozzarella cheese

Parsley

In skillet over medium high heat add your sausage, onion, garlic and seasonings and saute until browned,

Add in your tomatoes, creamy, gnocchi and spinach and heat until gnocchi is cooked, spinach is wilted and some of the cream has reduced (about 8-10 minutes).

Stir in your shredded mozzarella cheese until melted.

Top with more cheese and parsley if desired.

Creamy sausage gnocchi is a simple 30-minute, one-pan recipe that tastes like a dish from a fine dining restaurant!  The recipe features basic ingredients found in most pantries, including the basic tomato sauce for pasta, spinach, and Italian sausage. 

Creamy Sausage Gnocchi - One-Pan, 30-Minute Meal

oz Italian sausage (spicy, crumbled)

olive oil

oz potato gnocchi

Italian seasoning (or Herbs from Provence)

oz tomato sauce (such as tomato pasta sauce

spinach (fresh)

salt and black pepper (to taste)

red pepper flakes (to taste)

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil on medium heat in a large, high-sided skillet.

Add crumbled sausage and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes, crumbling it.

To the same skillet with sausage, add uncooked potato gnocchi, chicken broth, heavy cream, minced garlic, Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil on medium heat and stir everything well. Cover with lid, and allow the gnocchi to cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat, while the sauce boils.

Add tomato pasta sauce and stir it well.  Add fresh spinach, and cook on medium heat, stirring frequently for 5 minutes until the spinach wilts to your liking. Cook longer if you would like a thicker sauce.

Mix everything well.  Remove from heat.

Season with salt, freshly ground coarse black pepper, and red pepper flakes, if you like.

Tip: use your best judgment about the salt. If the sausage is salty enough, you might not need to add any extra salt.
