Shawarma seasoning is a flavorful spice blend from the Middle East, it is traditionally used for seasoning meat, incredible aromatic blend including cumin, allspice, cardamom, turmeric, and ginger. Did you know that you can use it to as a seasoning for tofu, vegetables, stews, chickpeas, and other plant proteins?

Homemade Shawarma Seasoning

cumin powder

allspice

cardamom

garlic powder

smoked paprika

paprika

turmeric

cinnamon

ginger

oregano

Cayenne pepper

Combine the spices in an airtight container and shake to blend.

An aromatic and spicy Shawarma Seasoning that you can whip up anytime your little heart desires authentic Middle Eastern food!

Shawarma Spice Recipe

sea salt

red pepper flakes

black pepper

coriander

½ teaspoon whole nutmeg ((freshly grated))

cloves

cayenne pepper

measure ingredients

Measure out all the spices (except the nutmeg) and add to a bowl or plate.

Grate the nutmeg on a piece of foil until you have approximately 1/2 a teaspoon of nutmeg powder. Fold the foil to make a &quot;spout&quot; and pour it with over the other spices.

stir ingredients

Stir all the shawarma spices until completely combined, then using the same piece of foil, pour the spices into an empty jar.

store in jar

Tighten the lid and store the shawarma seasoning until needed.

This is a great old recipe although I suggest adding about 7 pieces of Arabic gum grounded with salt and marinate the meat for 24 hours also adding an onion when marinating
