These Shrimp Tacos are a must-try - loaded with plump juicy shrimp, crisp cabbage, avocado, cotija cheese, cilantro and a lime crema sauce that will win you over. We serve these over toasted tortillas.

Shrimp Tacos with Best Shrimp Taco Sauce

shrimp

garlic (pressed

tsp sea salt

tsp black pepper

tsp cumin

cayenne pepper

olive oil

white corn tortillas ((small, 6” diameter))

purple cabbage (2 cups shredded)

avocado

onion

oz Cotija cheese

cilantro (coarsely chopped)

lime

sour cream

mayonnaise

Tbsp lime juice (squeezed from 1 medium lime)

garlic powder

tsp Sriracha sauce (or

Thaw and pat dry shrimp with paper towels and place in a medium bowl. Add seasonings and garlic and stir to combine.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 Tbsp olive oil and add shrimp in a single layer. Sauté 1-2 minutes per side or just until cooked through. As soon as they are cooked through (white inside with some pink and red accents outside), transfer to a serving platter and set aside to cool.

Toast 8 tortillas over an open gas stovetop flame on medium/low heat (about 10 seconds per side) until lightly charred on the edges (or on a medium-hot skillet or griddle) until golden brown in some spots (30 seconds per side).

Thinly slice cabbage, dice the avocado, finely dice the red onion, and coarsley chop the cilantro. Add these to your serving platter along with lime wedges. Build tacos by arranging toppings and shrimp over each toasted tortilla.

In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients and serve with assembled shrimp tacos.

►2 cups shredded, or 1/2 small purple cabbage
►1 large avocado, diced
►1/2 red onion, diced
►4 oz (1 cup) Cotija Cheese, grated
►1/4 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped
►1 lime cut into 8 wedges

SHRIMP TACO SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
►1/3 cup sour cream
►1/3 cup mayonnaise
►1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice (from 1 medium lime)
►3/4 tsp garlic powder
►3/4 tsp Sriracha sauce, or to taste

Easy SHRIMP TACOS with Best Shrimp Taco Sauce

In under 30 minutes you can make up this easy Blackened Shrimp Tacos recipe! Make up these healthy and gluten-free tacos for a quick dinner on a busy weeknight.

Easy Blackened Shrimp Tacos with Cilantro Lime Sauce

½ lbs. shrimp (jumbo, deveined, tails removed)

Tbsp. butter (or olive oil)

paprika

oregano

salt

pepper

Greek yogurt (plain, dairy-free)

cilantro

lime juice

corn tortillas

red cabbage (shredded)

Place deveined shrimp in a large bowl.

In a medium-sized bowl whisk together paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Sprinkle seasonings over shrimp and toss to combine.

Place butter or oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.  Add half of the shrimp to the skillet.  Cook shrimp for 3-4 minutes per side.  Repeat with remaining shrimp.

While shrimp are cooking add yogurt, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, and salt to the bowl of a food processor.  Process until smooth.

Serve shrimp in a toasted corn tortilla with cilantro-lime yogurt sauce, red cabbage, avocado, and additional cilantro.&nbsp;&nbsp;See this recipe in Healthy Meal Plan #3.

This sauce was so easy &amp; delicious! I hosted family dinner &amp; used it on the shrimp tacos.  Everyone loved it!  I used a sheet pan recipe I’d found but this sauce recipe is a must. Can’t wait to try it on fish tacos!

STEP BY STEP:
Hold the root ends of the cilantro with your non-cutting hand. Use a large chef's knife to scrape off the leaves in a downward motion.
Use your fingers to remove any large stems from the cilantro leaves; small tender stems are okay.
Holding the top of the blade with your non-cutting hand, rock the blade back and forth to chop the cilantro. Pull the leaves back into a pile and go over them with the knife several times until the pieces are the size that you're looking for.

How to Cut Cilantro

Crispy, golden shrimp coated in a creamy, spicy bang bang sauce make these Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos an irresistible seafood dinner. Easy to make and packed with crunch and flavor, they’re sure to be a hit!

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

buttermilk

cornstarch

panko breadcrumbs

tsp salt

tbsp sweet chili sauce

sriracha (adjust to your spice preference)

tsp honey or sugar (optional

If using frozen shrimp, defrost first

In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for 10-15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

Remove the shrimp from the buttermilk, letting any excess drip off, then coat them in the breadcrumb mixture.

Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey or sugar until smooth.

Warm the tortillas by wrapping them in foil and placing them in a warm oven.

Add a layer of shredded cabbage to each tortilla, followed by the crispy shrimp. Drizzle generously with bang bang sauce.

Top with chopped cilantro, a squeeze of fresh lime, and any optional toppings you like. Serve immediately with extra lime wedges on the side.
