Smoked Cream Cheese (5 Ways)

1- 1 1/2 tablespoons Kansas City Rub (or your favorite bottled sweet rub)

Prepare your grill or smoker for 200 degrees F. Use your favorite pellet or add wood chips or chunks of choice.

Place unwrapped cream cheese into the pan, and season with BBQ rub.

Place the pan with cream cheese into the smoker, close the lid and let it go for 2 hours. If you&#39;d like it a little smokier, let it go an extra half an hour.

Once the cream cheese has a golden color and has cracked at the top, it is done.

Remove from the grill, let stand for 10 minutes and dig in.

Smoked Cream Cheese the Oven Method:Heat your oven to 210 degrees F.Use a 9&quot; X 9 &quot; pan and a 12&quot; piece of aluminum foil to contain the cream cheese. Score your cream cheese (as shown in our video), then brush with oil and season with your favorite rub or seasonings of choice.Create a boat-like structure around the cream cheese with the foil. Do not cover the cream cheese; you are just trying to contain it.Place it into your oven for 1 hour. After that time, check on your cream cheese. If it is soft and the rub has baked in nicely, your oven-cooked smoked cream cheese is done. If it is still solid, let it cook for another 30 minutes. Remove your cream cheese and let it stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.Yes! You read that right! You can make smoked cream cheese right in the oven.

Preheat.

Preheat. Preheat your smoker to 180 degrees F.

Prep the cream cheese.

Prep the cream cheese. Cut 1/2 inch deep scores into the top of the cold cream cheese brick with a paring knife. Place the cream cheese on a baking sheet or grill mat and season with the Rib Rub or your favorite BBQ seasoning.

Smoke.

Smoke. Place the cream cheese on the smoker, close the lid, and smoke for 1 hour.

Make the salsa.

Make the salsa. While the cream cheese smokes, prepare the cranberry jalapeno salsa. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Pulse until the salsa reaches a finely diced consistency. Stop blending before it becomes a paste. Transfer to a lidded glass container and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Serve.

Serve. Remove the smoked cream cheese from the smoker to your serving platter. Top with spoonfuls of cranberry jalapeno salsa and serve with tortilla chips or crackers.

THIS is the appetizer you need this Holiday Season!!! | Smoked Cream Cheese

This smoked cream cheese is an easy, crowd-pleasing appetizer to make when you&#039;re running your smoker! Serve it up with crackers or kettle chips.

Smoked Cream Cheese

oz cream cheese (one standard block)

tbsp BBQ dry rub (use your favorite, or see the recipe below)

spray oil

dark brown sugar

garlic powder

tbsp black pepper

onion powder

tbsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

tbsp chili powder (add more for extra spice)

Preheat your smoker to 200 F (Or any temp between 180 F and 250 F if you have a different desired temp for something else you&#39;re smoking. The cream cheese is fine to smoke at any temp in that range.)

Mix together your dry rub if you&#39;re making it now.

Line a small baking sheet with foil and grease the foil with spray oil. Drizzle the block of cream cheese with a little olive oil, fully coating the outer surface.

Then, dust with the dry rub, covering all sides of the block.

Place the coated block on the prepared baking sheet. Use a sharp knife to score the top of the block with a cross-hatch pattern, as pictured.

Smoke for 1 to 2 hours (I usually do 2 for more smokiness and the best texture, but you can pull it out after an hour if desired). Serve with a cheese knife and crackers (as a spread) or with plain kettle chips (as a dip).

My kids won't stop asking for this! It's so good. Throw some jalapeno jam on top at the end and you wont regret it.

Cook time and temp were great, but followed the rub directions to a t and it was sssooooooooooooo salty. Could barely eat it
