spicy mango sauce

An easy, colorful sauce to spice up so many dishes - with plenty of heat!

Mango habanero sauce

habanero chilis

mango (, giving 3/4 cup diced mango)

onion ((or 1/2 small))

garlic

lime juice

tbsp apple cider vinegar

tsp salt

Remove the stem from the chilis and remove some or all of the seeds if you prefer less hot. Note take care as you handle them not to rub eyes and wash well after (you may want to use gloves).

Peel the mango and dice the flesh from the stone. Peel the carrot, onion and garlic and roughly chop all (the carrot is best sliced fairly thin unless your blender/food processor is very strong).

Put everything in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

Tip the sauce into a small pan and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and simmer for approx 10min. Allow to cool before transferring to a bottle or jar.

Sweet and sour mango sauce with fruity notes and a slight kick, perfect as marinade for chicken, fish and seafood, or for topping the grilled meat when its done. You can also use this creamy mango sauce as pasta sauce or drizzled over salads and vegetables to jazz them up.

Mango Sauce For Chicken, Fish And Seafood

mango (cubed /fresh and ripe)

olive oil

lemon juice (lime juice

tbsp ketchup (whole30 approved)

Dijon mustard

onion (or 1/2 large)

tbsp maple syrup (optional (if not whole30))

tsp sea salt

tsp black pepper

habanero peppers (or 1 tsp chili sauce

Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Process until smooth, for about 1 minute.

You can use it raw as it is, or cook it for longer storage. Just add the sauce you just made to a large pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Cool the mango sauce then transfer to a storage container.

So easy to prepare and excellent flavor.  Looking forward to adding it to pork
