A simple and delicious recipe for Arrabiata Sauce. Our spicy tomato sauce is packed with tons of  flavor from sweet San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and herbs.

Arrabiata Sauce

extra virgin olive oil

yellow onion (finely diced)

garlic

red pepper flakes

tomato paste

tomatoes

basil leaves

oregano

salt and pepper

Place a pot over medium heat and add oil. Add onions and sauté for about 5 minutes or until onions start to get translucent. Season with salt and pepper.

Add garlic and crushed red pepper flakes and continue to sauté, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Stir in tomato paste and cook for about 2 minutes, while stirring, until paste turns a deep red color.

Add whole tomatoes and break each tomato apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper.

Lower heat to medium-low, stir in crushed tomato and simmer for about 25 minutes.

Stir in basil and oregano and continue to simmer for 10 minutes or until the sauce comes together and thickens.

Remove from heat and cool.

Tuna Meatballs &amp; Linguine with a Spicy Marinara Sauce

4 oz Blue Harbor Albacore Tuna (4.6 oz undrained) (well drained)

lemon juice

onion (chopped)

Italian parsley

tbsp basil

tbsp grated Romano cheese

sea salt

¼ tsp black pepper

bread crumbs

oz crushed tomatoes

onion (finely chopped)

garlic (finely minced)

½ tsp crushed red pepper (more

½ tsp sea salt (to taste)

olive oil

spaghetti

In the bowl of your food processor add the tuna, garlic, basil, breadcrumbs, egg and some seasoning.

Pulse the mixture until fully mixed and the tuna is shredded.

Once fully combined, roll the mixture into 8 meatballs shaped tuna balls

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan and sear the tuna balls for 3-4 minutes. When you have some color on the tuna meatballs transfer them onto a plate and refrigerate them until needed.

Tuna Meatballs

In the same pan, add the olive and saute the onions and garlic for 1-2 minutes on medium heat until fragrant.

Add the crushed tomatoes and spices to the pan.

Bring the marinara to a light boil and reduce the heat to a simmer.  Simmer for 20 minutes.*If the sauce is thick, add a little water to the pan.

After simmering the sauce for 20 minutes, taste and re-season the sauce if needed.

Carefully place the tuna meatballs into the sauce, spooning some of the sauce over top of the meatballs.*Be careful not to stir the meatballs around, so they don&#39;t break up

When you put the sauce on simmer, start your pasta water. *Allow the sauce to continue simmering on low with the tuna meatballs in the sauce while the pasta cooks.

Begin cooking the pasta when you add the meatballs to the sauce.

Add a little of the sauce into the pasta and divide between four bowls.  Place two tuna meatballs on each portion of pasta with additional sauce.

Serve with grated cheese and enjoy!

Spicy Marinara Sauce

Think of your favourite Greek restaurant. Now, think of those delicious greek potatoes, in the spicy tomato sauce, that you get on the side. I live for those potatoes, and after you try this recipe, you may start living for them too.

Greek Style Potatoes [Spicy Tomato Sauce!]

Yukon gold potatoes (quartered)

Tomato passata

tsp Cinnamon

tsp Oregano

tsp Nutmeg

tsp Chilli flakes

bouillon

lemon

tsp Garlic Powder

garlic (peeled and smashed)

Parboil the potatoes

In a large pot of salted, boiling water, boil the potatoes until they are fork tender. Drain, and put in a large stainless steel skillet.

Top with remaining ingredients

Top the potatoes with the remaining ingredients, and stir to ensure everything is well coated and combined.

Simmer Potatoes

Simmer the potatoes on medium-low heat with the lid on, for 15-20 minutes.

In less than 30 minutes, make this delicious chicken in a spicy tomato sauce! Serve it with pasta, polenta, rice, or veggies for an easy Italian inspired meal.

Chicken Fra Diavolo

chicken breast, cubed

tsp kosher salt

tsp red pepper flakes (or black pepper)

tbsp butter (or olive oil)

onion,

garlic cloves,

dry white wine

oz fire roasted diced tomatoes

tsp jarred Calabrian chilies (or red pepper

Italian seasoning

parsley

basil

Season chicken with salt and pepper.

Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper. For extra spicy, season the chicken with red pepper flakes.

Cook chicken until browned and cooked through.

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side until just cooked through. They will be added to the sauce after, so make sure not to overcook. Remove and set aside.

Cook onions until softened. Add garlic and chili peppers.

Add the olive oil to the skillet. Once hot add the onions and cook for 4-6 minutes until beginning to soften. Add the garlic and chili peppers (red pepper flakes) and cook for 1 minute.

Deglaze the pan with white wine.

Add the wine to the pan and use it to deglaze the pan, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Add tomatoes and herbs. Let simmer.

Add the tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes or longer. It should thicken slightly. Taste and adjust the heat level if needed.

Add chicken to sauce.

Add fresh herbs.

Garnish with fresh parsley and basil. Chicken Fra Diabolo is traditionally served with pasta.

Chicken Fra Diavolo is a spicy Italian dish made with a rich and spicy tomato sauce. It comes together in 20 minutes and is deliciously served with pasta, rice, veggies, or crusty bread.

The enticing puttanesca sauce is an aromatic and flavorful tomato sauce that has a bold combination of flavors -- anchovies, olives, capers and garlic.

Puttanesca Sauce over Fettuccini

dry fettuccini

anchovy anchovy paste}

14.5 ounces cans (3 cups canned diced tomatoes with juice)

Tablespoons oi-packed sun-dried tomatoes (minced)

brown sugar

balsamic vinegar

kalamata olives (pitted and slivered)

Tablespoons brined capers (drained and rinsed.)

Salt

For the pasta, bring a large pot of salted water to boil over high heat. Meanwhile, heat a large saute pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil, garlic, anchovies,  and red pepper flakes. Stir cooking for 30 seconds -- you will smell the anchovies but it will not leave a strong taste.

Add the tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, brown sugar, and vinegar; stir to combine. Simmer sauce until slightly reduced, about 15 minutes. While the sauce simmers, prepare olives and herbs; pour capers into a small dish -- it's easier to measure them that way.

Meanwhile, add the fettuccini to the boiling water; stir to prevent them from sticking. Cook pasta until al dente (refer to package for times) Before draining, remove 1/4 cup cooking liquid to thin the sauce if needed.

Finish the sauce with the olives, herbs, capers, green onions, and salt, plus some pasta water if the sauce seems too thick. Transfer the sauce to a large shallow bowl and top with the drained pasta. Toss until pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

Sprinkle the remaining green onions on the pasta or around the plates.

I made this for dinner this evening. Very tasty!

I love, love, love puttanesca!  Will have to try your recipe. Can anything be bad if it contains olives, capers, and anchovies??  Yum.  Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
