Flavour packed Honey Garlic Sriracha Chicken, made with the easiest, and most delicious marinade/dipping sauce! Restaurant quality chicken made right at home!

Honey Garlic Sriracha Chicken

honey

Sriracha ((Asian Chile sauce)*)

garlic (crushed (or 1 1/4 tablespoon minced garlic))

rice wine vinegar

soy sauce

lime juice

chicken thighs (with

cooking oil

Salt and pepper (to season (If desired))

Sliced green onions ((or shallots in Australia), to serve)

Sesame seeds (to serve)

Lime wedges (to serve)

In a shallow bowl, mix the honey, Sriracha, garlic, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and lime juice together until well combined. Spoon 4 tablespoons of marinade out of the bowl and reserve to use for later as a dipping sauce.

Cover with plastic wrap and marinade chicken for a minimum of 30 minutes to 2 hours (if time allows), in the refrigerator.

Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a nonstick pan or cast iron skillet (or grill pan) over medium heat. Sear the chicken in two batches (I do 3 thighs per batch), on both sides along with any sauce leftover in the bowl, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the middle; the skin is crisp and golden browned, and the underside is charred slightly (chicken will char slightly due to the honey). Transfer chicken to a warm plate, tent with foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes.

OPTION A: Add the reserved sauce to the hot pan to warm through on medium heat, stirring occasionally while mixing all of the pan juices through the sauce.

OPTION B: Do not add the sauce to the pan. Serve chicken with remaining pan juices left over in the pan, and pour reserved sauce over each chicken (this option ensures a slightly spicier end result).

Serve chicken immediately along with the sauce. Garnish with sliced green onion, sesame seeds and lime wedges. Serve with steamed veggies, over rice or noodles.

Plain/All Purpose Flour

Cornstarch/Cornflour

tsp Baking Powder

Eggs, (beaten)

Salt & White Pepper (as needed (see notes

Vegetable Oil, (for deep frying)

tbsp Light/All Purpose Soy Sauce

tbsp White Wine Vinegar

tbsp Cornstarch/Cornflour

tsp Garlic Powder

Salt & Pepper, (to taste)

Rice

Sesame Seeds

Dice chicken into bite sized pieces and season with a good pinch of salt and pepper.

Line up two bowls: 1st with beaten egg and a pinch of salt and pepper, 2nd with flour, cornflour/cornstarch, baking powder and a pinch of salt and pepper.

A few at a time, coat your chicken pieces in the egg, then into the flour. Really make sure you fully coat the chicken at each stage, namely in the flour. Press in the flour to create a flaky texture. Place to one side and repeat.

Heat up 3-4cups/750ml-1litre oil in a suitably sized pot to 180C/356F. In batches of 3-4 deep fry your chicken pieces for 4-5mins or until crispy and completely cooked through. If you&#039;re unsure just remove one piece and slice through to check the centre - it should be completely white and piping hot. Place chicken on a wire rack with paper towels underneath. Repeat with all chicken.

In a saucepan with the heat OFF combine honey, soy sauce, sriracha, vinegar, garlic powder and seasoning to taste. Give a stir to combine then bring the heat to a gentle simmer. Once the sauce has fully blended, in a small dish combine 1 tbsp cornstarch/cornflour with 1 tbsp cold water until completely smooth.

Add to the sauce and whisk until blended. Simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens and turns nice &amp; glossy. If you see small lumps just grab a whisk to smooth them out.

Honey Sriracha Sauce

Add chicken to sauce and stir to evenly coat. It should be nice and sticky by this point. Serve over rice with sliced green/spring onion and sesame seeds!

Instant Pot Sriracha Chicken Tacos

Add chicken and water to Instant Pot. Cook on high pressure for 3-6 minutes (the larger the breast, the longer the cook time). Instant Pot will take about 10-15 minutes to pre-heat and then the 3 minutes to cook. When complete, press cancel and do a quick release of the steam, waiting until the pressure gauge drops back down and the lid is safe to open.

Meanwhile, mix all ingredients for mango salsa together.

Remove chicken from Instant Pot and let cool slightly before shredding. Add back into Instant Pot after draining water. Toss chicken with sriracha, honey and salt, mixing well. Add chicken to tortillas, then top with mango salsa and serve!
