This round steak &amp; mushrooms recipe combines steak with a mushroom &amp; onion gravy, perfect for a family dinner!

Round Steak and Mushrooms

mushrooms (sliced)

onion (diced)

butter

beef broth (low sodium)

thyme leaves

Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Using the textured side of a meat mallet, pound meat to ½″ thickness. Season steaks with salt &amp; pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat in a dutch oven. Brown steaks on each side (adding additional olive oil if needed). Remove from pan and set aside.

Add mushrooms, onions, and 1 tablespoon butter. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add steaks back to the pan. Combine remaining ingredients except cornstarch and pour over steaks. Cover and bake for 2 ½-3 hours or until fork tender.

Remove steaks from the liquid and set aside. Whisk cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water until smooth. Bring cooking liquid to a boil and while whisking, add cornstarch mixture a little bit at a time to reach desired thickness.

Serve over mashed potatoes.

Smothered Steak

round steaks, (about 1 pound)

onion, (about ½ medium onion)

garlic, (about 3 cloves)

all-purpose flour

Rub 4 round steaks, with Salt and pepper, and set aside. Heat 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Carefully place the steaks in the heated pan and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, undisturbed to create a nice crust on the steaks. Remove the steaks from the pan and set aside.

Add 1 cup diced onion, to the pan and cook until they are tender, scraping up any blackened bits from the pan as you cook.

Add 3 teaspoons minced garlic, to the pan and cook for 1 minute. Whisk 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour into the pan, creating a paste.

Slowly pour 2 cups beef broth into the paste mixture, whisking as you pour. Once all the broth has been incorporated, add 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce and 1 teaspoon soy sauce.

Place the steaks back in the pan with the gravy sauce and cook for an add 3-4 minutes, coating the steaks well in the gravy.

Season with additional salt and pepper to taste and serve!

This delicious crock pot cube steak with gravy is an easy meal that&#039;s great to pair with all of your favorite classic side dishes!

Slow Cooker Cube Steak with Gravy

(10.75 ounce) can french onion soup

(10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

pkg brown gravy mix

water

Add the French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, gravy and water into the slow cooker and whisk until combined.

Add the cube steak and sliced onion into the slow cooker and toss with the gravy mixture.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Mix the cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water together in a small bowl. And add to the gravy mixture and toss until coated. Cook on high another 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.

Serve over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.

I cooked the Crockpot Cube Steak today! If my husband told me once, he told me fifteen times how good it was! Definitely recommend! It was delicious! We had the cube steak with cream potatoes and Lima beans! Definitely a keeper! Didn’t change a thing!
