teriyaki meatballs

Recipe video above. Soft, plump, juicy meatballs smothered in a homemade Teriyaki sauce! The sauce for this recipe is based my mother's authentic Teriyaki Chicken recipe. Serve these as a meal or pass them around at a party.

Teriyaki Chicken Meatballs

/ 65 milliliters Mirin ((Note 2))

tbsp white sugar ((brown also ok))

panko breadcrumbs ((or ¾ cup normal breadcrumbs))

Place Meatball ingredients in a bowl.

Place cornflour in a bowl with 1 tbsp of the water, then mix until lump free. Then add the soy sauce, sake, mirin and sugar, mix.

Add 2 tsp of Teriyaki Sauce into the Meatball bowl.

Add remaining water into the Sauce and mix. Set aside.

Mix Meatball mixture with your hands. Measure out 1 heaped tablespoon and roll into balls. See Note 3 for tips if mixture is too sticky.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add all the meatballs and cook, rolling to brown all over, for 5 minutes. They will still be a bit raw inside.

Turn heat down. Give the Sauce a quick mix then add it into the pan. Bring to a simmer then cook for 2 - 3 minutes or until it thickens into a glossy sauce that coats the meatballs.

Serve over rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

These turkey teriyaki meatballs are juicy and and so flavorful with a homemade teriyaki glaze. Try them over a bed of steamy rice or with toothpicks as an appetizer.

Teriyaki Meatballs Recipe

oz turkey

panko bread crumbs

green onion (finely chopped)

tsp ginger ginger

garlic (pressed)

tsp sesame oil

light brown sugar (lightly packed)

hoisin sauce

soy sauce

Tbsp sesame oil

garlic (minced)

ginger ginger

Line a 17x12 rimmed baking sheet with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil. Pre-heat oven to 400˚F.

Combine meatball ingredients in a large bowl: 16 oz ground turkey, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/4 cup green onion, 1 egg, 1 tsp fresh ginger, pressed garlic clove and 2 tsp sesame oil. Use your hands or a spoon to mix just until combined.

Roll into 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" meatballs and bake at 400 for 10 to 12 mins or until juices run clear or a meat thermometer reads 170˚F. Meanwhile, make the sauce.

Simmer the sauce ingredients together in a small sauce pan for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently or until slightly thickened.

Transfer warm meatballs to a mixing bowl, drizzle with warm sauce and toss to combine.

Easy Teriyaki Meatballs

Garlic powder is ground, dehydrated garlic. It is a very common seasoning. Applications include pasta, pizza, and grilled chicken. Garlic salt is simply salt plus garlic powder. (Pre-made products usually include an anti-caking agent.) Garlic powder is a common component of spice mix. It is also a common component of seasoned salt.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan; set aside. To a large bowl, add ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, milk, ginger, salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until just combined. Use a 1 1/2 Tablespoon cookie scoop and scoop meat mixture into balls and place in prepared pan. Or, rub a little oil on your hands and then roll the meat mixture into roughly 1-inch balls. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Makes around 35 meatballs.

To prepare the teriyaki sauce: Pour all of the sauce ingredients into a medium saucepan. Whisk together until no lumps remain. Heat over medium heat until it thickens, whisking occasionally. This should only take 3-5 minutes.

When meatballs are done baking, dunk them in the teriyaki sauce and serve over cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with broccoli florets on the side.

Teriyaki Meatballs

Juicy and tender teriyaki meatballs are easy to make at home! Baked chicken meatballs are tossed in a sticky, sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce and are a delicious appetizer or serve as a main dish over rice.

Preheat

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. 

Combine

In a large bowl, mix the chicken, egg, oil, panko, parmesan, green onion, garlic, onion powder, salt. and black pepper using your hands or a wooden spoon just until combined, being careful not to overmix.

Scoop

Use a medium cookie scoop or spoon to portion the meat mixture. Form into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on the baking sheet. 

Bake

Bake uncovered 16 to20 minutes, or until no longer pink in the middle. Turn halfway through, if needed, so the bottoms don&#39;t brown. 

Stir

Place meatballs in a skillet or slow cooker over low heat. Pour teriyaki sauce over the top and stir until coated and warmed through. Keep warm until ready to serve.

Serve

Serve over rice. Top with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

teriyaki sauce (I used Soy Vay® Veri Veri)

scallions (thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup))

eggs (lightly beaten)

pineapple juice

sesame seeds and additional scallions

Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Mix well, do not over mix or you will have tough meatballs.

Using a 1 tablespoon scoop, portion out meat and place on baking sheet.  After all meatballs have been scooped onto tray, roll into balls.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, until light golden brown and cooked through.

Meanwhile in a 10&quot; skillet, warm teriyaki sauce over medium heat. Combine pineapple juice and cornstarch in a resealable container. Cover and shake to combine. Add juice mixture to sauce. Whisk to combine. Cook on medium heat until sauce begins to thicken.

Remove meatballs from oven and transfer to skillet. Toss meatballs in sauce. Serve and enjoy.

Saucy Teriyaki Meatballs

We had you at “teriyaki meatballs” and “ready in 20,” right?

chicken

eggs,

panko breadcrumbs

garlic cloves, finely chopped

green onions, finely chopped

¾ cup low-sodium soy sauce

garlic cloves,

lime juice (from 1 lime)

chili paste

cornstarch or arrowroot starch

broccoli

Preheat the oven to 400˚F with a rack in the center position. Line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.

Make the meatballs. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, eggs, panko, ginger, garlic, green onions, salt, and sesame oil. Mix well, then with wet hands, form meatballs (about 2 tablespoons each) and place on the prepared sheet pan. You should have about 28 meatballs. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatballs reaches 165°F on an instant-read thermometer.

Meanwhile, make the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, lime juice, sesame oil, and chili paste (if using). Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes.

In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and ¼ cup water to form a slurry. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes more. If the sauce gets too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired thickness.

Place the meatballs in a large serving bowl. Add the teriyaki sauce and toss to coat. Serve with broccoli alongside, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, if using.

Made this tonight and it was easy and delicious. Kid friendly! Will make again! However, the sauce was much much too salty. I was planning to serve with canned pineapple anyway so I ended up adding the entire can plus juice into the sauce along with a little more cornstarch.  It worked super well!

I make so many recipes from the modern proper.  Like ALL of the recipes I makethis one was delicious too!

This was delicious! Used sriracha and maybe would add a little less next time. It was a little spicy for my 9 year old son. I also added a little more honey to get that teriyaki sweetness. Served with rice, steamed broccoli and store bought egg rolls. Delicious/healthy alternative to take out.

New family fave and was so fast which makes it a personal new fave of mine.
