Refreshing, creamy, and bright orange in color, this Thai Iced Tea is easy to make at home and is exactly like the tea you get from your favorite Thai restaurant or on the streets of Bangkok. We like to keep a batch in the fridge in the summer, adding creamy sweetened condensed milk, to taste, just before we serve it. Want to adjust the servings in this recipe to make more or less? Thai Iced Tea

Water

Thai Tea Mix

Sugar

Tbsp Sweetened Condensed Milk,

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan or tea kettle.

Remove saucepan or kettle from heat. Combine hot water with tea mix and sugar and stir to combine.

Cover and allow tea to steep for 15 minutes.

Strain tea and allow it to cool completely. (At this point you can transfer the tea to the refrigerator for up to a week.)

When you’re ready to serve, pour tea over ice. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, adding more or less depending on how sweet and creamy you’d like your tea.

Serve!

Butterfly Pea Flower tea is simple to make and changes color when you add lime juice for an interesting effect and talking point over dinner. It&#039;s a great digestive aid and has numerous health benefits.

Cup Butterfly Pea Flowers (Dry or Fresh)

Liter Drinking Water (2 pints)

Honey

Tablespoon Brown Sugar

Limes

Can Sprite

Bottle Soda Water

Boil the water in a saucepan.

If using fresh flowers then while waiting for the water to boil, prepare the Butterfly Pea Flowers by cutting the green bottoms off. If using dried flowers you can use as they come.

When the water has boiled turn off the gas and tip in the flowers and put the lid on the saucepan. Allow to sit for 5 minutes without further heating (if you carry on boiling water a bitter taste will develop).

When your 5 minutes is up strain the tea concentrate into a jug.&nbsp;

Whilst still warm add the honey and brown sugar and stir to dissolve (you can adjust sweetness by adding more or less to your taste).

Making The Concentrate

Pour about 1/4 to 1/3rd of the tea concentrate into a glass with ice and add 2 teaspoons of lime juice and the blue color will turn to purple like magic.&nbsp;

Top up with soda, sprite or 7-up or just plain water.&nbsp;You can also drink like hot tea with some snacks.Enjoy your healthy drink!

Butterfly Pea Flower Tea is a common drink in Thailand and around South East Asia. The flowers are picked and used fresh but you can use dried flowers just as well and you even save having to take off the stems.

Once you have steeped the flowers in hot water and drained them, add a sweetener and either drink immediately diluted with hot water as a tea or store in the refrigerator and use in cold drinks.

The adults in our family drink 3-4 glasses a day diluting with water and plenty of ice and the kids prefer it diluted with lemonade. Adding lemon juice changes the color which is pretty cool and adding lime gives it a kick.

Butterfly Pea Tea simply diluted with water tastes like a floral version of green tea with a very light floral, slightly earthy, flavor. We like the flavor but if you don't like it straight up then try it with lime or lemon juice. 

It has lots of benefits for your digestion and generally makes you feel more energized and alert.
