The tofu puffs itself has no taste. When it combines meat and sauce, everything is perfect.

Tofu Puffs

tofu puffs (wash and drain)

pork (minced)

salt

soy sauce

vegetable oil

shiitake mushrooms

onion

onion (minced)

Lao Gan Ma

starch

water

Soak the mushrooms in warm water for 30 minutes, then chop the mushrooms.

Add salt, 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce, and starch in a bowl and mix well.

Poke a hole in the tofu puffs with chopsticks and fill it with meat.

Heat a pan with oil and stir-fry the tofu puffs until each side becomes golden.

Add 2 teaspoons starch, 1/2 bowl of water, Lao Gan Ma, and remaining soy sauce. Close the lid and cook under middle heat for 7-8 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Garnish with green onion. Serve.

These Spicy Basil Tofu Puffs are full of flavour. They&#x27;re garlicy, spicy, and salty with a hint of sweetness. Best served over jasmine rice.

Spicy Basil Tofu Puffs

garlic

red bird's eye chillies

2tbsp mushroom sauce or vegetarian oyster sauce

1tbsp light soy sauce

1tsp dark soy sauce

2cm piece of palm sugar, or 2tsp brown sugar

Thai basil

2tbsp neutral flavoured oil, e.g. sunflower, rapeseed, peanut

Place the garlic and red bird's eye chillies (but not the larger mild chillies) into a pestle and mortar and pound into a rough paste. It does not need to be perfect, don't worry!

Heat up a wok or pan over a...

Heat up a wok or pan over a medium heat, then sauté the garlic and chilli paste in the oil for around a minute or until fragrant

Add the tofu puffs along with the sauce...

Add the tofu puffs along with the sauce and the mild sliced chillies. Cook for a further 1 to 2 minutes

Finish with a large handful of Thai basil...

Finish with a large handful of Thai basil and cook for 30 seconds or so, or until just wilted

Serve over steamed rice or noodles
