Ground Turkey Tacos are saucy, flavorful and oh so easy in 20 minutes. Your family will not miss the beef and ask to make them again and again!

Turkey Tacos

lb turkey

onion (finely chopped)

garlic

tbsp oil

tbsp taco seasoning (low sodium)

tsp salt

Pepper

water

Drop of any sugar

corn tortillas

Avocado (tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, red onion and lime, for serving)

Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet on medium heat and swirl oil to coat.

Add onion and garlic and saute for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add ground turkey, taco seasoning, salt and pepper. Saute for 10 minutes, stirring and breaking into small pieces with spatula often.

Add tomato sauce, water and a touch of sugar. Stir bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute.

Warm up tortillas on another hot skillet or in a microwave.

Serve hot in a corn tortilla with your favorite taco toppings like avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, red onion, lime and guacamole.

Add all ingredients, except water, to a freezer bag - I like to use these reusable 1 gallon silicone bags.

Swoosh things around to mix tomato paste with turkey to prevent burning.

Freeze for up to 3 months.

Cook from frozen with 1/2 cup water on high pressure for 12 mins.

Release pressure using Quick Release.

Whisk 2 tbsp cold water with 2 tbsp cornstarch and add to Instant Pot.

Press Saute, stir and cook until taco meat has thickened.

This ground turkey taco skillet dinner has all of the cheesy taco flavors you love in a fun, scoop-able meal that the whole family will love.

tortilla chips

Prepare ingredients: Dice onion. Dice bell pepper. Mince garlic.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, pepper, ground turkey, and taco seasoning to skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 3-4 minutes.

Add garlic, beans, and corn to skillet. Cover and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Meanwhile turkey skillet is cooking, prep any toppings and/or bell peppers for scooping.

Stir cheese into turkey mixture until it melts and serve with tortilla chips, bell peppers, and  desired toppings.

My family loves this and we love scooping it up with chips!

Everyone loves this at our house! We typically serve with some rice and plenty of veggies and chips to dip.

Watched you make this on Twin Citites Live.  This skillet dinner was delicious - It was quick and easy to make!  Made it into a burrito for dinner - with chips for extra dipping 😋.  Will definitely add to the dinner rotation, can use it so many ways!

I would caution against using the Trader Joe's taco seasoning for this as the recipe was overly spicy. My son couldn't eat it and my dad, who adds red pepper flakes to everything, said it was too much. I'll try again with a milder taco seasoning or make my own. It was easy to throw together, and filling.
