Wellness Recipe: Lemon Turmeric Ginger Shots

orange juice (fresh squeezed)

lemon juice (organic, not from concentrate)

ginger juice

full squeeze liquid turmeric

oregano (liquid concentrate)

full squeeze black elderberry (alcohol-free)

cayenne pepper (optional)

Add all ingredients to a glass

Stir to combine well

You can sip the shot slowly or take all in one gulp. This doesn&#x27;t change the effectiveness.

Ginger Turmeric Shots

inches Turmeric Root (about 1/4 cup fresh or 2 tbsp powder)

Ginger Root (about 1/4 cup)

Lemons, peeled

Oranges, peeled

Water

Cayenne Pepper

tsp ground Black Pepper (for turmeric absorption)

tsp Oil (*Optional: for turmeric absorption, see recipe notes)

Wash and dry fresh produce. Peel the lemons and oranges.

Bring 3/4 cup of water to a boil in a small pan. Once boiling, add turmeric root, reduce heat to medium high and simmer for 7-8 minutes. After simmering, remove turmeric root while reserving the liquid in the pan. Put liquid in fridge to cool.

While liquid cools, juice the turmeric root, ginger root, lemons, and oranges in a juicer. Stir in the cayenne, black pepper, and oil. Stir in the remaining cooled liquid from boiling the turmeric.

Pour into shot glasses and enjoy! Store the leftover ginger turmeric shots in an air tight container in the fridge. They will last about 2-3 days.

Where did you get those mini glass containers? I have large sized ones that look similar and would love to have all my bottles look the same (for aesthetic purposes).

Turmeric shot is a wellness drink with anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties. Made with 3 main ingredients - turmeric, black pepper and honey, you can optionally use an additonal healthy fat and lemon juice for added benefits.

Rinse fresh turmeric root under running water. Scrub it well with a brush to get rid of any mud deposits. Rinse well and peel it with a spoon or a butter knife. Slice the root.

Optional - heating turmeric enhances the bioavailability. So if you want add the turmeric slices to a pot along with ½ cup water. Boil until the water reduces to half, for about 5 to 7 mins and cool completely.

Add to a blender jar with ¼ cup water and black pepper corn. Blend until smooth.

Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and strain the turmeric puree. OR You can also use a cheese cloth. Using a wooden spoon, extract the liquid to the bowl. You will see a lot of smooth turmeric makes through the strainer. Use the leftovers in the strainer in your curry, soups, smoothies etc.

To make the turmeric shots, pour 1½ tablespoons slightly hot water to each shot glass and stir in 2 tablespoons of the liquid turmeric.

Mix well and make sure it is luke warm. If it is cold, you may add little more hot water. Stir in honey until well combined. Consume turmeric shot immediately.

Optionally you may add ⅛ teaspoon avocado oil and 1 tablespoon lemon juice or 1 teaspoon lime juice to each serving. If you prefer orange juice you may add as much as you want.

Turmeric shot with fresh root

Pour 1½ to 2 tablespoons luke warm water to each shot glass. Stir in half teaspoon ground turmeric, ⅛ teaspoon freshly crushed black pepper and 1 teaspoon honey.

Stir very well and consume turmeric shots immediately. If you want you can add lemon juice and healthy fats.

I just made ginger shots for the first time using a coldpress that i had in the cupboard for a while. I was buying them and then decided to do them myself. Your instructions and method was easy to follow. I used a grapefruit spoon to grate the ginger and used mango slices and one fresh lemon and water as I didn't have some of the other ingredients but will try tumeric with it next time. 🍹Turmeric Ginger Lemon Shots

litre mineral water

salt

Gather all the ingredients, wash, peel and chop.

Place all the ingredients in the blender.

Give it all a good whizz.

Strain the juice and bottle in your favorite bottles. I have special bottles just for this.

Refrigerate and consume within a week.
