Sweet And Spicy Chili Garlic Noodles

tbsps Braggs liquid aminos, (see notes

garlic

sesame oil

sugar

oz uncooked spaghetti pasta noodles, use gluten free if needed*

Cook pasta noodles according to package instructions, drain but don't rinse.

While pasta is cooking whisk together the sauce ingredients in a small bowl, (not green onions) microwave for 30 seconds or so until the sugar is dissolved.

Add cooked pasta, and sauce to a medium serving bowl, mix with tongs. Garnish with green onions

Wow! This was so delicious! I used coconut aminos and it was still super salty. If yours is too, just add a little extra sugar, some water and a little rice vinegar to combat the salt. I’m addicted.  I added pork the first time I made it, but the second time I just added a little julienned  carrot the last few minutes of the pasta boil. (I also used a little cornstarch to thicken the sauce.) So good both ways! I may add a handful of peanuts next time. Thanks for the recipe!

These quick and easy Garlic Chilli Noodles are scrumptious and highly addictive! Look no further! This noodle recipe is waiting for you!

Garlic Chili Noodles

11 oz Dried Ribbon Noodles(300 grams) ((Note1))

1½ Tbsp Cooking Oil ((Note2))

½ Cup Scallion(white part) (thinly sliced)

¼ Cup Vegetable Broth(low-sodium)

Tbsp Light Soy Sauce ((Note4))

Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce

Tbsp Chinese Black Vinegar ((Note5))

Tbsp Korean Chilli Powder/Flakes ((Note6))

¼ Cup Scallion(green part) (thinly sliced)

Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Chilli Flakes (optional)

1. Heat a small frying pan( my frying pan is 6″/18cm diameter) over very low heat. Add cooking oil along with thinly sliced scallion( white part) and minced garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes on very low heat and constantly stir. (we don’t want to burn them, if you see they start burning, turn the heat lower)

2.Turn on the kettle with water for the noodles. After sautéing our aromatics for 5 minutes, we add vegetable broth, light and dark soy sauce, black vinegar, and Korean chilli powder/flakes( Gochugaru) into the sauce pan and stir. Turn the heat up to medium-low and let the sauce simmer away for 5 minutes without a lid on. (If you sauce is ready but the noodles are not ready yet, just turn off the heat and leave the sauce on the stove).

3. Meanwhile , we gonna cook dried noodles while the sauce is simmering. Cook the noodles in a pot according to package instruction.

4. Drain the noodles very well then pour the garlic chilli sauce over and mix well until the noodles are well coated with the sauce. Finish with more scallion(green part), toasted sesame seeds, and more chilli powder/flakes. Serve when hot and enjoy!

Garlic Chilli Noodles

Quick and easy creamy vegan garlic pasta that you can have ready to serve and devour in under 30-minutes. This simple vegan pasta recipe is easy to make, dairy-free, egg-free and gluten-free if you use gluten-free pasta. You can even prepare the sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve it. Serve on its own or with veggies.

Creamy Vegan Garlic Pasta

340 g (12 ounces) fettuccine pasta

olive oil

½ (50 grams) small yellow onion, diced

(14-18 grams) pressed garlic ((see note below))

300 g soft / silken tofu ((roughly 1 ¼ cup))

vegetable broth

nutritional yeast

lemon juice

Italian seasoning

salt

black pepper

dry parsley flakes

Prepare pasta

Prepare pasta using directions on package. Drain and set aside.

cook onions and garlic

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the garlic and continue to cook for another 2 minutes, until the onions begins to brown.

Make sauce

Remove skillet from the heat and add onion and garlic mixture, tofu, broth, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper to a blender. Blend until mixture is smooth.

Heat sauce

Pour mixture back into the same skillet and set heat to low. Whisk in parsley flakes. Heat until the sauce is warm and slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Add pasta to sauce

Add cooked pasta to the skillet and gently toss using tongs until all noodles are coated with the sauce. Serve immediately.

I bought silken tofu by mistake. Came across your recipe and I was intrigued. This is my new crack! I had to stop myself from finishing it all by myself!! Better than any Alfredo I’ve had. Added roasted broccoli, 8 cloves of garlic. This is a keeper!!!

I added marmite instead of vegetable stock (I didn't check the cabinet beforehand oops) Luckily it came out pretty good! I also paired it with pan fried king oyster mushrooms. 
I definitely liked using the silk tofu. This was my first experiment with it, we had been using processed nuts as fake milk/cream. But this has a much better consistency and taste with its pairing.

I am new to vegan cooking and bought silk tofu before I knew what to do with it -- this recipe was a perfect way to experiment.  My tofu was larger/more quantity than the recipe so I experimented with the amounts of other ingredients.  It was good, but I also added worchester sauce to balance the sweetness/taste of the nutritional yeast, which I am not accustomed too.  I think this was a good add!  I also added steamed asparagus and lightly sauteed mushrooms.  For pasta, I used the low-calorie Konjac noodles.  It was really good, thanks for sharing!
