Vegan Jello

(240 milliliters) Red Grape Juice (100% fruit juice)

(240 milliliters) Water

(50 grams) White Sugar

(240 milliliters) Green Apple Juice (100% fruit juice)

Food Color*

For the red jello

Add the agar agar flakes or powder, water, fruit juice and sugar to a pot on the stove. Bring to the boil stirring regularly. Allow to boil for 2 minutes.

For the green jello

Follow the steps as above, but after boiling for 2 minutes, remove from the heat and stir in the green food coloring. Pour into serving bowls or glasses and refrigerate to set.

I just made this. I’ve made jello a few times with agar and it’s always super hard like you said. Well this is the best jello. It’s obviously not as “bouncy” or hard as gelatin jello, but the consistency doesn’t make me want to puke like it did when it was super hard! 
I used the powder and followed your recipe measurements, using Maple Syrup instead of sugar! Same measurements. instead of water I used a strong infusion of cold fighting herbs for my sick daughter and I used cranberry juice. It worked so well. This is going to be my go to recipe from now on and I have you to thank for it. All your hard work had benefited us all! I’m really impressed with the perfect texture it has! Thank you so much!!!

You're a god send... I've been heartbroken by the way my vegan jello turned out as I've been using like really large quantities of the Agar agar powder (mentioned in the recipe in fact). Came across this and just used a teaspoon for 500ml of juice + water. It's amazing! Thank you so much

Fruity Vegan Jello - Loving It Vegan

This Vegan Jello is easy to make and tastes like the real thing! All you need is two indgredients to make this healthy recipe, made with 100% juice.

Vegan Jello (only 2 ingredients!)

100% grape juice ((or apple juice))

agar agar flakes ((or 3 teaspoons agar powder))

Grease a 9-inch square pan (or any size/shape pan that you like) with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper for easier jello removal later.

Pour the fruit juice into a small saucepan, and add in the agar agar flakes. Bring the juice to a boil, and whisk constantly to help the agar flakes dissolve. Once the juice is boiling the flakes have completely dissolved, remove the mixture from the heat.

Pour the liquid into the lined dish, then transfer the dish to your refrigerator to set. It will take up to 2 hours to cool completely. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

The recipe is as simple as it gets with just 5 ingredients. There are no complicated layers to make with this dessert. Just cook the jelly mixture in a saucepan and then pour into a large dish. Once the jelly sets, refrigerate until cold. To enjoy, simply cut into bite-sized pieces or bars. This Coconut Agar Jelly is so simple yet so satisfying. Enjoy!

Coconut Agar Jelly / Thach Dua

water

Tbsp agar agar powder

sugar

vanilla sugar

coconut milk

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and agar agar powder. Let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.

Over Medium heat, bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring frequently to dissolve the powder. When the mixture comes to a gentle boil, add the sugar and vanilla sugar. Combine together until dissolved. Reduce the heat to Low if the mixture is boiling too vigorously. Add the coconut milk and combine well. Skim off any foam and discard. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Pour the hot jelly mixture into a large dish or individual cups and bowls. Skim off any bubbles from the top using a spoon. Let rest at room temperature until the jelly is firm, approximately 1-2 hours. Transfer the dish into the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours.

To remove the jelly, run a knife around the dish. Invert the dish and tap on the counter to loosen the jelly. Using a wavy knife, cut the Coconut Agar Jelly into bite-sized pieces.

Refrigerate any remaining portions. Enjoy within the week.

Learn how to make vegan jello in some simple steps! It is such a mouthwateringly delicious dessert that many vegans end up missing.

agar powder

fruit juice (flavor of your choice)

sweetener (maple syrup, agave, cane sugar)

Add fruit juice to a saucepan, then stir in the sweetener and agar powder.

Start boiling the mixture over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Constantly stir for a minute.

Remove the pan from the heat and pour the jello mixture into a mold. Allow the mixture to chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator to set it completely.

Add vegan ice cream or fruit toppings to make the vegan jello fresher and more delicious!
