vegetarian garlic noodles

Garlic Chili Noodles

11 oz Dried Ribbon Noodles(300 grams) ((Note1))

1½ Tbsp Cooking Oil ((Note2))

½ Cup Scallion(white part) (thinly sliced)

¼ Cup Vegetable Broth(low-sodium)

Tbsp Light Soy Sauce ((Note4))

Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce

Tbsp Chinese Black Vinegar ((Note5))

Tbsp Korean Chilli Powder/Flakes ((Note6))

¼ Cup Scallion(green part) (thinly sliced)

Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Chilli Flakes (optional)

1. Heat a small frying pan( my frying pan is 6″/18cm diameter) over very low heat. Add cooking oil along with thinly sliced scallion( white part) and minced garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes on very low heat and constantly stir. (we don’t want to burn them, if you see they start burning, turn the heat lower)

2.Turn on the kettle with water for the noodles. After sautéing our aromatics for 5 minutes, we add vegetable broth, light and dark soy sauce, black vinegar, and Korean chilli powder/flakes( Gochugaru) into the sauce pan and stir. Turn the heat up to medium-low and let the sauce simmer away for 5 minutes without a lid on. (If you sauce is ready but the noodles are not ready yet, just turn off the heat and leave the sauce on the stove).

3. Meanwhile , we gonna cook dried noodles while the sauce is simmering. Cook the noodles in a pot according to package instruction.

4. Drain the noodles very well then pour the garlic chilli sauce over and mix well until the noodles are well coated with the sauce. Finish with more scallion(green part), toasted sesame seeds, and more chilli powder/flakes. Serve when hot and enjoy!

Garlic Chilli Noodles

15 Minute Garlic Noodles are the best noodles to make at home when you need a quick and easy meal ready fast that also happens to be super delicious! 

15 Minute Garlic Noodles

oz spaghetti (can sub any noodles you like)

butter oil

garlic cloves, finely chopped

scallions, chopped

sesame seeds & chili flakes to garnish (optional)

soy sauce

tsp sesame oil

tbsp oyster sauce (or vegetarian oyster sauce)

tbsp honey (can sub agave

tsp sriracha

Cook the spaghetti according to package directions. 

Heat the olive oil in a skillet then turn the heat to medium-low and add the garlic and scallions. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. 

Add the spaghetti and stir-fry sauce and mix together until combined. 

Optionally top with sesame seeds and chili flakes and serve. 

We tried this recipe a few weeks ago and we are hooked! It is absolutely delicious. One of our go-to recipes now!

This recipe is super easy and delicious. I used flat brown rice noodles,  but you can really use anything you have on hand. Paired it with some stir fried veggies and tofu, so great and quick :)

This was delicious!  I forgot to add the agave nectar or honey, but we had some aloha sausages that have pineapple in them so that added a touch of sweetness to the dish.    We had some leftover multi grain angel hair pasta  in the fridge ( I usually cook up a big pot of pasta that is only seasoned with salt and then we keep it in the fridge to use as we want)  so that's what I used.        My husband had two helpings!!  We plan to make this often and change up the proteins and add some other veggies.  But it's so good on it's own - thanks for the recipe!

I didn’t want to spend alot of time cooking and found this recipe.  I’m in love!  Husband loves it too!  Made exactly as noted other than substituting sambal olek (1/2 amount) for the siracha.  Perfect!

Really enjoyed this recipe, simple and easy to make.  My family members really enjoyed it including my sister who doesn't necessarily float to Asian cuisine, she said it felt like eating in an Asian restaurant, it was that good.  I used Miracle noodles(shirataki) and the sauce just paired so nicely.  I'm definitely holding on to this recipe and will be making again very soon.

 I made it with 12 oz. Penne pasta whole wheat pasta, tri colored bell peppers, onions, frozen broccoli (cooked and cooled),  and no meat.  Also did not use oyster sauce and Sriracha sauce.  Very tasty and healthy.  Thank you again.

Everyone in my family loved this dish! I doubled the recipe using brown rice Pad Thai noodles, broccoli, and carrots. I steamed my broccoli and carrots in the microwave while the noodles cooked. Then I made my sauce in a non stick pan. I tossed the noodles and veggies together in the sauce. I probably could have quadrupled the sauce ratio because the noodles soaked most of it up but it was still very tasty. Thank you for the recipe!

Delicious delicious delicious. I don't normally follow a recipe to the letter but with this one I did (mainly because of the stir fry sauce) but I made one exception by adding mushrooms. Can't wait to make this for friends and family. Your stir fry ratios for the sauce were spot on. Thanx for sharing

I made this for me and my 2 younger siblings!! They rated it 4 &amp; 4.5 stars. It wasn't too complicated to make, although I used 2 tbsp of sesame oil and 1 tbsp of siracha. I would totally make this again!!
