I made this recipe 2 weeks ago and again today and my family loved it! Honestly, taste very much like Wendy's.

Im not sure why there are negative reviews; if you cook it right (hint, reduce it down properly) and add spice to the level you want it, this recipe is great!

I think I just got punked.   This is AWFUL.   Did your taste buds take a vacation?  Dr.’d  it up as best I could   Whew girl.  Shredding recipe.

Thought it was perfect as is with the addition of 1/4 c Rotel. I used an immersion blender to chop all the veggies after sautéing and to me tasted exactly liked Wendy’s.

Love it. Dont' eat at Wendy's so I can't compare. Just know I love this soup

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Cook meat until no longer pink.

Stir celery and green bell pepper into ground beef for 4-5 minutes.

Pour in chopped stewed tomatoes, diced tomatoes with green chiles, tomato sauce, and water. Break apart large chunks of stewed tomatoes. Stir in chili seasoning.

Mix kidney beans and pinto beans into chili, season with salt and black pepper, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. Mix vinegar into chili.

Our wendy's chili recipe is a copycat of the real thing. With only 255 calories, this recipe will be both light on your purse and also your waist line. 

garlic

sweet onion, diced

green bell pepper, diced

lbs extra-lean ground beef

(10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies

chicken broth

chili powder

paprika

kidney beans, drained and rinsed

(14 oz) can black beans,

white vinegar

Salt and pepper,

pinto beans

chili seasoning

In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of the extra-virgin olive oil over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Add the minced garlic and diced onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent (about 2-3 minutes) 

Add the celery stalks and bell pepper. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes, or until celery has softened. 

Meanwhile, in a separate frying pan, heat the other tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Add the ground beef, break apart and cook, stirring occasionally until no pink remains. 

Once ground beef is cooked, drain any liquid from the pan and add the ground beef to your pot with onions, celery and bell peppers. 

Add the stewed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, chili powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, paprika, kidney beans and black beans to the pot. 

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce to low, add the lid to the pot and allow to simmer for at least 60 minutes. 

After 60 minutes, stir in the white vinegar and salt, pepper to taste.

Kidney Beans (15 oz. each, not drained)

Stalks Celery (Diced)

Green Bell Pepper (Diced)

Worcestershire Sauce

Tomato Sauce ((15 oz. each))

Diced Tomatoes (15 oz. each)

Chili Powder

Tbsp Cumin

Salt

Pepper

Cheddar Cheese (for serving)

Saltine Crackers (for serving)

Brown the ground beef in a large stock pot. Halfway through the cook time, add in the celery and bell pepper and cook until they are tender. Drain off any excess grease.

Add in the remaining ingredients except for the cheese and the crackers. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat and cover and simmer for approximately 30 minutes to combine all the flavors.

Serve topped with the shredded cheddar cheese with the crackers and enjoy!
