White Sauce Pasta Recipe

Cook pasta according to packaged directions.

Melt butter in a medium sauce pan, add garlic.

Cook for 1 minute over medium heat

Add flour and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly.

Add milk and broth, stirring constantly. Cook until sauce boils and thickens.

Add parsley and parmesan cheese. Add desired salt and pepper. Continue stirring until cheese has melted. Serve immediately.

Pour sauce over pasta and serve.

Creamy Penne Pasta

Creamy and cheesy White Sauce Pasta is the ultimate comfort food! Packed with veggies, this is also a great way to sneak in veggies for picky eaters!

White Sauce Pasta

penne pasta (200 grams,

butter (divided)

onion

red pepper (sliced)

green pepper (sliced)

broccoli florets (optional)

garlic (finely chopped)

all purpose flour (also known as maida)

milk (warm)

heavy cream

oregano

Italian seasoning

red chili flakes (optional)

salt (to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

cheese

cheese (optional, to serve, make sure it's vegetarian)

Boil the pasta according to instructions on the package and drain. Note: use only 1 cup pasta if you like more sauce in your pasta. While the pasta is boiling chop all the veggies.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan on medium heat. Add all the veggies - onion, peppers and broccoli and cook for 2 minutes. You want veggies to remain crunchy. Remove the veggies from pan and set aside.

To the same pan, now add olive oil and the remaining tablespoon of butter. Once the butter melts, add the chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Then add in the flour.&nbsp;Whisk the flour continuously, using a wire whisk for around 1 minute. You don't have to brown the flour.

Then add the in the milk and&nbsp;the cream. You can skip the cream and use only milk here.

Whisk to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes.

The sauce will thicken and coat the back of the spoon.

Add oregano, Italian seasoning, red chili flakes (if using) and mix. Also add salt and black pepper to the sauce.

Let the sauce simmer on medium heat another minute or so and then add the cheese (if using) and mix until it melts. Now turn the heat to the lowest.

Stir in the boiled pasta and the sauteed veggies. Toss until the pasta and veggies are coated with the sauce. Taste test and adjust the seasonings at this point.

Serve white sauce pasta immediately out of the pan with parmesan cheese if needed. Tastes best when fresh. Enjoy!

This white sauce pasta has an amazing basic cream sauce that everyone will love! Eat it it straight up or customize with more veggies or protein.

Creamy White Sauce Pasta

2% milk

Start a pot of well salted water to a boil. Boil the pasta until it is just al dente (start tasting a few minutes before the package recommends: you want it to be tender but still a little firm on the inside; usually around 7 to 8 minutes). Drain.

Meanwhile, measure out all ingredients in advance; the cooking process happens fast!

Right after you add the pasta to the pot, start the sauce: In a small or medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the grated garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1 minute to 90 seconds, until bubbly and golden. Do not overcook it: the flour can turn brown within a few seconds. Keep an eye on it!

Add a splash of milk and whisk it in: the sauce will instantly turn chunky. Constantly whisking, continue to add splashes of milk and whisk them in until the entire quantity is incorporated and the sauce is smooth.

Reduce the heat and whisk until the sauce thickens and no longer tastes like raw flour, about 5 minutes. Add the salt and Parmesan cheese. Taste and add a pinch or two more salt if desired.

Drain the pasta, then add the sauce. Add a splash or two of milk to loosen the sauce and stir until you have the right consistency. Taste and a few more pinches of salt, if necessary. (The sauce is best freshly made, so we don’t recommend making it in advance). Serve with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

I made this and it was absolutely delicious, I recommend adding some black pepper as a bonus flavor!

I substituted the regular flour with a mix of almond and sweet rice flour, came out fab!

White Sauce Pasta (also known as White Pasta) is one of the most popular and easiest pasta recipes that you can make at home. In this recipe, I am sharing an easy way to make a restaurant style white sauce (or béchamel sauce) in which cooked penne pasta is tossed.

White Sauce Pasta Recipe (White Pasta)

Butter (- salted or unsalted)

whole wheat flour (or 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour)

whole milk (- cold or chilled)

black pepper powder (or add as required)

nutmeg

salt (as required)

penne pasta (- 100 grams)

water

salt (or add as required)

dry oregano

basil

thyme

herbs

cheddar cheese

Heat a saucepan. Keep the heat to a low and add the butter.

When the butter melts and starts to bubble, then add 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour or 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.

Using a wired whisk stir the flour quickly as soon as you add it. Keep on stirring so that no lumps are formed.

The frequent stirring helps the flour to cook evenly. You will see the flour frothing and bubbling up while stirring.

Sauté the flour till you get a nice cooked aroma from the flour and a pale golden color. Don&#39;t brown the flour.

Keep the heat to the lowest and then pour the cold or chilled milk in a gentle stream. Pour the milk with one hand and stir the sauce mixture with the other.

The milk has to be chilled, so that lumps are not formed. If you use hot or warm milk or milk at room temperature, lumps can be formed.

Do stir frequently while the milk warms and heats up.

On a low heat, simmer the sauce till it thickens.

When the sauce has thickened well and coats the back of a spoon, turn off the heat.

Keep the saucepan on the kitchen countertop and add the seasonings - ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder, a generous pinch of nutmeg powder or grated nutmeg and salt as required.

To make a cheese sauce, you can add 2 tablespoons of grated cheddar cheese or 1 tablespoon of grated vegetarian parmesan cheese.

Mix very well and set aside. Do note that on cooling white sauce will thicken more. So you can keep the consistency accordingly.

Making white sauce

Boil 4 cups water with ½ teaspoon salt in a pan.

When the water comes to a boil, add the penne pasta.

Cook the pasta on a medium to high heat or according to package instructions.

When the pasta gets done to an al dente texture, turn off the heat. For a softer texture, you can cook the pasta more if required.

With a large strainer spoon, strain the pasta, draining all the water.

Cooking penne pasta

Add the cooked pasta to the white sauce.

Add ¼ teaspoon each of dried oregano, dried basil and dried thyme. You can add your choice of herbs. At this step you can even add some steamed or cooked or sautéed or roasted veggies.

Mix very well.

Serve white sauce pasta garnished with some fresh herbs like parsley, chives or dill. You can also garnish with some grated cheddar cheese of you like.
