Healthy Tuna Salad (Paleo, Whole30, Gluten-Free)

tuna packed

Whole30 compliant mayonnaise or Greek yogurt

celery

capers

red onion

dijon mustard

dill

parsley

lemon

salt + pepper

garlic powder

Add the canned tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, capers, celery, onion, capers, lemon juice, fresh herbs, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper to the tuna in the mixing bowl.

Stir everything until well combined and give the tuna salad a taste. Adjust the levels of salt and pepper to fit your tastebuds and then either serve immediately or place the tuna salad in an air-tight container in the fridge.

This was delicious! I did end up cutting the lemon juice in half, but then served it over a bed of greens with cucumber, kalamata olives, bell pepper and radish. So good! The capers give it a nice little briny punch.

Whole30 Paleo Tuna Salad

wild caught tuna

Mayonnaise

Medjool date (pitted)

Nature's Intent apple cider vinegar

red bell peppers (finely diced)

broccoli florets (steamed)

red onion (finely diced)

kosher salt (to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

In a small bowl, add the Medjool date with enough hot water to cover it. Let it sit for 20 minutes and drain the water. Remove the pit from the date and place into a food processor or high-speed blender pitcher.

Add the mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Drain water from the cans of tuna and scoop into a large mixing bowl.

Add in vegetables and mix thoroughly. Stir in the seasonings. Taste for additional mayo / salt and pepper and stir again.

Serve inside halved avocados or eat it on its own. It's that good!

green apple (1/2 large/105 grams)

red bell pepper (120 grams)

red onion (50 grams)

parsley, roughly chopped

tahini

lemon juice

red pepper flakes

Add all ingredients to a medium-size mixing bowl and mix to combine. Enjoy as-is, in a salad, on a lettuce wrap, or however you prefer! Store in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed glass container for up to 5 days.
