Yakisoba is a classic Japanese noodle dish with a salty, sweet and sour sauce. Made in one-pan, this recipe is so easy to make and is always a crowd pleaser.

Yakisoba Noodles

Sauce

Combine the sauce ingredients together. Set it aside.

Prep

Prepare all veggies for the recipe. Cut them into the size of your preference. Some noodles may need to be preheated in their original packaging. Follow the instructions on the box for the noodles.

Veggies

Cook all vegetables separately in a pan on high heat, just for a few minutes. This will add a golden color to them.

Chicken

Cook chicken in an oiled skillet until all sides turn golden brown.

Add saut&eacute;ed veggies and all the sauce ingredients to the pan.

Cook

Add in noodles to the mixture. Cook for a few minutes and serve.

Quick Mentsuyu Recipe (Cold Soba Noodle Sauce)

Stir together your soy, mirin, sake or rice wine and dashi powder in a saucepan and gently bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.

Take it off the heat and set aside, allowing it to cool completely before use.

(Optional) Garnish with a sprinkling of aonori powder or thinly sliced nori for extra flavour.

For the sauce:

If you’re ready to eat, go ahead and bring a medium pot of water to the boil, then add in your soba noodles. Cook according to packet directions (usually around 3 mins or so), then drain and remove from the heat.

For the most refreshing experience, allow your noodles to cool completely before serving. You might like to run them under cold water to speed this up, or pop them in the fridge for 10 mins or so before serving so they cool down more quickly.

Yakisoba is a classic Japanese stir fry noodles recipe with a salty, sweet, sour and spicy sauce. You can make it simple with cabbage, onions and scallions or add your favorite veggies and protein.

15 Minute Easy Yakisoba Noodles Stir Fry

Tablespoon white sugar

Heat the vegetable oil in a large saute pan or wok set over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and stir fry for 1 minute. Add the cabbage and cook for another 2 minutes until softened. Add the prepared yakisoba noodles and toss well.

Stir fried to perfection in just one pan, Yakisoba noodles are the easiest Japanese street food to make. Ready in 25 minutes and loaded with pork and veggies smothered in a homemade yakisoba sauce for the most authentic flavour.

Yakisoba – Japanese Stir Fried Noodles

noodles

300 g pork loin (thinly sliced)

onion (thickly sliced)

carrot (finely sliced)

g cabbage (thickly sliced)

tsp sesame oil

yakisoba sauce

tsp white sesame seeds

seaweed flakes / aonori (nori flakes)

benishoga (pickled red ginger)

katsuoboshi (dried bonito flakes)

First up, heat that oil in a large wok or frying pan. We're adding a little vegetable oil and a dash of sesame oil for extra flavour.

Next, throw in the onions and stir fry for a few minutes until your mouth starts watering, then add the carrots and cabbage and give it a good stir. The thinly sliced pork comes next - stir fry until golden brown and full of deliciousness.

Now throw in those fresh ramen noodles and stir fry for a few minutes, using your spatula to toss and separate the strands. Once noodles they start to turn a little crispy, add half the yakisoba sauce and stir quickly to cover everything in flavour awesome-sauce.

Add remaining sauce and continue to stir fry until all ingredients are cooked and you can resist no longer.

Serve piping hot and delicious.

Easy Homemade Yakisoba Noodles [Ready in 25 Minutes!]

These yakisoba noodles are tender noodles stir fried with chicken and assorted vegetables in a savory sauce. A quick and easy meal option that can be easily customized to suit your tastes!

vegetable oil (divided use)

chicken breasts (thinly sliced)

salt and pepper

red bell pepper (cored, seeded and thinly sliced)

carrots

garlic (minced)

ginger (minced)

onions

worcestershire sauce

ketchup

sugar

sesame oil

Place all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until well combined.

For the sauce

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and place on a plate. Cover to keep warm.

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan.

Place the red bell peppers, carrots and cabbage in the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds.

Return the chicken to the pan and add the yakisoba noodles. Stir to combine.

Pour the sauce into the pan and toss everything together.

Sprinkle the green onions over the top, then serve immediately.

Heat the oil and butter in a sauté pan. Slightly caramelize the onion and add the garlic, jalapeno, red bell pepper and noodles. Cook for 3 minutes.

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, hoisin sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Set aside.

Empty the Yaki Soba noodles into a colander and rinse a few times before setting aside. 

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat, add the chicken, and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Add the carrots, onion, and bell pepper to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables start to soften.

Stir in the mushrooms and cabbage and cook until the mushrooms just start to release their water, about 4 minutes. Mix in the green onions and stir-fry for an additional minute.

Add the noodles and the sauce to the wok, gently toss to combine until heated through - about 3 minutes.

Garnish with freshly chopped green onions if desired.
