Step 1
Start by chopping the caramels up into smaller pieces. Set them aside and chop the apple into small pieces as well- discarding the stem, core, and seeds.
Step 2
Place the caramels, apple pie spice, and granulated sugar in a bowl.
Step 3
Next, add the vanilla extract and the softened cream cheese to the bowl.
Step 4
Add the chopped apple. Mix well with a spatula. Set aside.
Step 5
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F, air fryer setting.
Step 6
Then, line the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper.
Step 7
Cut the crescent dough into smaller pieces (About five inches across or so, you can make them as big or as small as you like – this will determine how many Danish you end up with, though.)
Step 8
Then form each crescent dough piece into round flat danish shapes, rolling up the edges a little like a crust. Place each piece on the parchment paper. You don’t want them to overlap or touch. (You may have to do more than one batch. I was able to fit four Danish in at a time. )
Step 9
Place a heaping scoop of the caramel apple mixture right in the middle of each crescent dough piece.
Step 10
Place the air fryer basket into the air fryer and “air fry” the Danish for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 11
Once they’re fully cooked, remove them from the air fryer & allow them to cool for a few minutes.
Step 12
Then, drizzle each with the caramel sauce.
