Step 1

Preheat your air fryer.

Step 2

Start by using a peeler to remove the apple peel and discard.

Step 3

Slice the apples in half then into quarters (you will need a total of 10 wedges from each apple).

Step 4

Use the knife to slice away the core and discard.

Step 5

Set up a bowl of cold water with 1 tsp of pink salt and place the apples in the bowl (this will stop them from becoming discoloured).

Step 6

Set up your dredging station in this order - melted butter, breading and the air fryer basket at the end.

Step 7

Use your fingers to dunk the apple wedges in the melted butter, place the apple in the bowl with the breading and press down then use a spoon to pile the breadcrumbs onto on the apple wedge (almost as if you are burying it). Then use your forefinger and thumb to grasp the ends on the apple, shake off any excess breading and place in the basket. Repeat this step for the remaining pieces.

Step 8

Set your air fryer to 190c/375f for 12-15 minutes (set the unit for 15 minutes but start to check around 12 minutes).

Step 9

Once cooked allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
