Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Prepare the strawberry filling: combine strawberries and 1/4 cup of sugar. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine Bisquick mix, milk, butter, and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Stir just until you form a soft dough.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet to form 6 shortcake discs. Since the batter has a lot of butter, there's no need to grease the baking sheet.

Bake the shortcakes for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 6
While the shortcakes are baking, prepare the whipped cream. In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream using an electric mixer on high speed until it forms soft peaks.
Step 7
Assemble the cakes: Slice the shortcakes in half crosswise. Fill and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
