Candy Bar Apple Salad

2% milk

vanilla pudding mix

carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

large apples, chopped (about 6 cups)

Snickers candy bars (1.86 ounces each), cut into 1/2-inch pieces

Havent made this yet, but was wondering if anyone had added chopped pretzels to the mix for extra crunch rather than peanuts.. i think the saltiness would balance wonderfully with the sweetness?

This is so funny that this recipe happened to come across my daily email today.  I have known about this recipe for YEARS but have never made it.  I had purchased all of the ingredients and had planned to make it tonight since I am having guests over.   I just finished making it.  It already tastes wonderful and I know that when served tonight my guests will love it.  This is the perfect fall food to serve.

I've made this in the past but don't recall using pudding.  There was cool whip and  1/2 block of  cream cheese  .  I used granny smith apples, snickers, green grapes and sometimes walnuts or pecans.

Add an 8oz. Softened Cream Cheese and a bit of lemon juice to this and put it into 2 Graham crusts. It makes perfect filling for sharing. 🥰🍏

I made this with swapping most of the ingredients due to allergies.  I used Asian pears instead of apples,  Aero bars instead of Snickers and slightly sweetend whipped cream instead of whipped topping. (I guess overall a whole new salad but used an awesome looking salad as the starting point.  I also used only 1 cup of milk. with the pudding.  It  was a HUGE hit!!!  Thank you for the great recipe evfen though I had to improvise as I need to do with many recipes.  With all who got to share it with our family we all would give this 10 stars out of 5. Lol.

I have a very old recipe for a similar Carmel Apple Salad, no candy bars  were in it, but butterscotch pudding mix was to mimic Carmel. (pudding mix  was mixed with whip cream and a small can of crushed pineapple *** you did not make pudding with it***) It had mini marshmallows, whip cream, peanuts, Apples chopped up with skin on. It was very good.   I  tried this one, but I am diabetic and this version has a great deal more carbs.  Also there are over 30 types of apple that have tartness to them Granny Smith is not the only one, and actually maybe not the best one to always go to.    Be creative with apple choices.   The cookbook was written in the late 50s and personally I like mixing the pudding in the whipped cream and pineapple.  Seems to come out better than actually making pudding.

I read reviews to see how others have tweeked your recipes or for actual reviews Taste Of Home but reading about how some idiot emptied his babies diaper into cool whip or how someone cant believe its a salad and would only serve it to make someone diabetic blah blah blah!  Really??? Is it really necessary to allow these kind of posts? I'm giving the" RECIPE" 5 stars by the way!!

Easy and yummy dessert pudding that is great for kids on a hot summer evening!  Or take it to a church picnic.  Even better, it can be made ahead!

OMG! What a big hit at our Thanksgiving dinner. Didn’t use the milk like others suggested, used butterscotch pudding mix, and Granny Smith apples. Just sprinkled the pudding mix on the apples, it worked great. Yum!

It was GREAT!  I made when my son had a friend over.  I used White chocolate pudding instead of vanilla.  At first they didn't even want to try it, but after one taste they kept coming back and filling up their bowls.  Now my boys ask me to make it.

I've been making this one since it originally appeared in TOH back in 2008.  We love it.  Sometimes I omit the snickers and add sliced bananas.

I got a very similar recipe from my mother-in-law, but it doesn't use milk.  You just sprinkle the instant pudding mix over the apples/snickers, toss gently to coat, and then fold in the Cool Whip.  I haven't had trouble with it getting watery, and I wonder if the omission of the milk gives the water from the apples a place to go.  This is a favorite in our house!

Great and easy recipe to make. My family loves it! I added strawberries and that was a hit too!

Received a similar recipe from a friend. Have made it several times.  The only difference is her recipe did not call for pudding. Just the whipped topping. Very good. If you're in a time crunch, it would save time. Will try it with the pudding. See which one I prefer.

The flavor was pretty good. You really have to watch it when you eat the Snickers because when they are cold, they get pretty hard and I could see where one could break a tooth.

I have made this now 3 times. My husband loves it. This time I used 1 pear, 1 granny smith and 1 macintosh and used crushed up heath bar. SOO Good!

DELICIOUS! I had bought 4 huge apples but only used 2 in the end and still used the 4 snickers. It was perfect. Gone in no time. Thanks for the recipe.

What ever the occasion this delicious dessert is always a winner.

This was a hit at a bbq though people had to ask what it was.  I added some mini marshmallows to the mix.  Next time I think I'll add some oranges and/or grapes too because it seemed like there was more 'sauce' than salad.
