Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip

(8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

Louisiana-style hot sauce

ranch salad dressing

cheddar cheese

green onions, optional

Corn or tortilla chips

Celery sticks

I have made this a few times but I change things a bit. the night before, I will cook a few chicken breasts on the stove and then let them cool. The next day I shred them in my mixer. It improves the tastes so much. I also make this in the crockpot. Since it is usually done for Thanksgiving, I start it early so we will have something to munch on while the bird cooks. It takes up just one corner of the kitchen that way and the oven is free. I would love to use blue cheese dressing but we cannot as there is someone in the home with an allergy. I use ranch that I have made and do not rant and rail at others who also use ranch. They have their reasons.

I double the chicken and use a Buffalo Sauce instead of the hot sauce.  Success every time!

I made this for Superbowl, I followed the directions except I used the suggestion of rotisserie chicken and I used Franks Red hot sauce.. and no green onions...Everyone loved it!!...i thought about using the bleu cheese suggestion and glad i didn't..turns out quite a few of my friends when asked said that they do not like bleu cheese..the ranch worked perfect..very yummy..UPDATE: the amount of hot sauce in the recipe i have since reduced to taste..one cup makes it very hot and some people couldn't eat it..i put a 1/4 to half cup instead now depending on where i'm taking it to..it still tastes great.

I made this  for our New Years Eve eve party. It was a HUGE hit! I followed recipe exactly , put it in the trusty crockpot and served with tortilla chips! I doubled the recipe , we had other items to eat of course , but this was the one I received the most comments on.

My daughter and her friends wanted this one day but I didn't have any chicken on hand. I decided to make the same dip but used spinach instead of the chicken and made Buffalo Spinach Dip. It has since become a fave in our house, especially since we have a lot of Vegetarian friends who now enjoy this as much as we do! Try it you wont be dissapointed.

Great simple recipe. Its NOT too spicy if you follow the directions: Louisiana -style hot sauce, not regular hot sauce such as (red hot) Tabasco!...(hello!) ...BIG difference

Frank's RH sauce1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese ~OR~ shredded mozzarella cheese2 cans chickenFrank's was the 'secret' in the original Buffalo wings back in 1964. For that reason, I would certainly use Frank's recipe and deem the recipes of the two self-absorbed 'shrews' (?) 'defeasible'!!!

Great recipe.  I am amazed that a recipe could make people 'name call' and get so upset.  A good dose of 'grow up' should be added.

This is awesome for a party.  Has just the right amount of spiciness and you can always adjust that my adding more ranch.

I have made this recipe several times and it is always a hit.  I just made a batch for my son to take back to school.  Keeps it in his dorm frig and microwaves it before eating.Next year he is living off campus and this will be a recipe that he will be taking..easy enough for an inexperienced cook to make!

This was a hit and all the guests loved it.  I made this for our Family's Christmas Dinner Party this past December.   It was something different than the usual Spinach Artichoke Dip or Veggie Tray (of course nothing wrong with those appetizers).  I chose to use Refrigerated Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing instead of Ranch Dressing and served it with Celery Sticks and Scoops Corn Chips.  I will definitely be making this recipe again.

The only thing I did different was to use Blue Cheese dressing instead of ranch. That is just a family favorite. It is a good dish when we have a group anywhere, church or family. If it is not on the table people look around and ask where it is!

I have made this one for years, I have found the best is with venison or pork sausage.  Always gone when it hits the table.

I live in Buff. This is one of the worst sounding recipes I have ever seen... Here is a real Wing dip recipe!!!!!8oz cream cheese1/2 c blue cheese dressing (rooties is the best)1/2 c Franks hot sause (HAS TO BE FRANKS!!!!!)1/2 c crumbled blue cheese2c cooked chicken.....Cook Chicken in frying pan diced with butter and hot sause (To taste). Shred chicken. add all ingredients and mix. Bake at 350 for 20 mins or so.... NEVER EVER mix buff wings with ranch that is not a buffalo wing!!!!! It has to be blue cheese! and a bufflo wing is ALWAYS made with franks or other type of cayenne pepper sause knock off.... Up here louisiana hot is not enjoyed... Cultural differences sorry.... Thats how we buffalonians do it up!!!!! blue cheese and farnks baby!!! ENJOY!!!!!!!

I make mine with a rotisserie chicken (plain), cream cheese, small bottle of ranch dressing, Franks hot wing sauce, and cheese.

Incredible. I use 1 can less of the chicken. I also substitute blue cheese for the ranch. Words cannot describe how good this is!

I love this recipe. I have made it before but had lost my recipe. I am glad to see it posted! I substituted low fat cream cheese, monterey jack cheese and used Texas Pete Hot Sauce. So Yummy!
