Step 1
Add liquid, beans, salt and spices to the inner pot of a standard instant pot. Give it a stir to make sure everything is distributed. If the beans have been soaked, use 3/4 as much water.
Step 2
Seal the instant pot and set the vent to sealing.
Step 3
Pressure cook on high for 32 to 35 minutes for un-soaked beans. For soaked beans, cook 20 to 22 minutes. Allow the pot to naturally depressurize.
