I love making these to go with any kind of pot roast. Once I made it and ended up adding them to a family member's roast, because the meat was too dry. It ended up being awesome. I absolutely love this recipe, and I make it all the time.

Why serve it with a slotted spoon?  Then you loose all the good juices that is good for potato gravy.

Super easy and fabulous! I served it over steaks with mashed potatoes and biscuits and hubby loved it!

These were very tasty.  Just a little to salty, so next time I will cut back on the seasoning packet mix.  I think that it cutting it by 1/2 will still give you that rich, wonderful taste without the salt.It was a perfect topping to out Pulled Pork sandwiches.Janie

I converted this to an Instant Pot recipe by using 1.5 lbs of mushrooms, added 1 cup of chicken broth, but otherwise the same.  The dressing mix can easily be ranch, if you prefer, or some other mix (even Guacamole mix!).   I set it to manual high for 2 minutes.  By the time it came up to pressure and then cooked for 2 minutes, and then quick release, it was just right for my boyfriend, who loves anything with big mushrooms in it.   A little soupier, perhaps, but the extra liquid was perfect for the steak and potatoes I was serving.  In future, I'd use less of the packet because it was a tad salty.  You can always add more once cooked, but you can't take it away!

This is the best mushroom recipe. I only make mushrooms using this recipe. I do however do it on top of the stove in a large saute pan. I use half the butter and saut?  Onion till soft. I add mushrooms ,stir and cover and cooking medium/low heat, stirring occasionally, but keep mushroom liquid  as much as possible. When mushrooms are tender enough to eat,  I add the seasoning mix and stir well, then add remaining butter. And melt . Remove from heat and serve Delicious! Can sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley as garnish. Yummy.

Good recipe but I added some white wine to develope a rich flavor.

Really good next time I would use less butter ...going to try them next with ranch

Our family didn't care for this side dish.  Although we aren't big fans of most mushroom recipes, this seemed like one we might like.  I can see how mushroom lovers might feel differently than us though.

Excellent and soooo easy!  My husband raved about it.  It didn't seem too salty to us, but we can all cut down on salt and probably cutting back on the seasoning packet, as Appy Girl suggested, I doubt would hurt the taste.

Great taste!  Can serve as a side dish or, if the mushrooms were cut in smaller pieces, it would make an excellent gravy to accompany any meat.  Such simple ingredients, yet has a extraordinary taste.

This receipe was awesome. Great way to serve mushrooms. I only left them in crock pot for 3 hours. Very tasty.

This tastes great!  Didn't have Italian dressing mix, so just used bottled Italian, and cooked in the oven.  Came out delicious!

My husband and I liked this a lot.  Made as is, and will keep it that way.

I don't have a slow cooker so I made this on the stove.  Awesome!!

Butter not needed. Can substitute with tarragon vinegar. Jarred mushrooms can also be used. These are just available variations of this recipe that I have tried over the years.

I substituted ranch dressing mix for the Italian and left out the onion. Very good!

This recipe is so easy and sooo good . The house smelled wonderful while they were cooking . I used one 8 oz container of baby bella s and one of white mushrooms , because thats what I had on hand . If you love mushrooms , you will love this recipe

I've made this several times since the first of the year. Awesome side dish. The last time making these, I added some fresh yellow and red bell pepper cut into strips. Fantastic addition.

This was good, but not GREAT! I just added 1/4 cup of dry red wine to the mix and the GREAT happened! I served it with pot roast and got raves. I just eat it by itself. (Oh, yes, I also once added it to some bland mushroom soup. Souper!

Awesome. Easy. But only used 1/2 cook time crock pot. And turned off. And let set .Perfect on my blue cheese burgers!!! With sliced sliced Swiss cheese and avocado, tomato, spinach....My question... I make a ton of frozen foods for my elderly parents. Do you think this mushroom dish can be frozen in a freezer bag? So they can add to whatever?...
